MY Foundation: How It All Started
MY Foundation: Street Smarts to Great Starts Corp., was founded by two African American women Dr. Shenika Jackson, and Jvonne Foster, whom were both born and raised in the Englewood Community. Both women excelled in their high school academics, graduating from Tilden Community Career Academy at the top of their class in 1996. MY Foundation started as a pilot project in the Englewood Community of Chicago IL at Kelly Branch Library. The first program: My College Going Self, enrolled minority high school teenagers ages 14 to 18 years old. In May 2017, MY Foundation: Street Smarts to Great Starts Corp. became a 501(c)3 organization. MY Foundation: Street Smarts to Great Starts offers two programs: My College Going Self Project, and Rehab 360.
