Úprimne ďakujeme veľvyslancovi Slovenskej republiky v USA Andrejovi Drobovi a generálnej konzulke Beatrice Szabóovej za ich osobnú účasť na 12. ročníku Veselica Gala, za ich podporu a blízkosť k slovenskej komunite. Naša vďaka patrí aj celému tímu Veľvyslanectva Slovenskej republiky vo Washingtone za ich spoluprácu a podporu.

Sme poctení účasťou honorárnych konzulov Slovenskej republiky v USA, osobitne novoustanoveného honorárneho konzula v Chicagu Josepha Seligu, ako aj honorárnej konzulky v Naperville Rosemary Macko Wisnosky spolu s jej manželom Denisom Wisnoskym.

S veľkou úctou sme privítali aj ďalších honorárnych konzulov Slovenskej republiky:
Gregoryho J. Fasinga (Denver), Edwarda Zelenáka (Detroit), Josepha Senka (Pittsburgh) a Dr. Ceciliu Rokusek, honorárnu konzulku Slovenskej republiky na Floride a prezidentku a CEO National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.

Ďakujeme aj váženým hosťom z National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library – Virginiji Oujiri Wilts, členke správnej rady, a Chrisovi Kramerovi, konzultantovi múzea – ako aj ďalším osobnostiam zo slovenskej a českej krajanskej komunity, predstaviteľom kultúrnych inštitúcií a priateľom Slovenska.

Ďakujeme všetkým, ktorí svojou prítomnosťou, podporou a energiou prispeli k tomu, že Veselica Gala bolo opäť oslavou slovenskej kultúry a tradícií. Aj tento rok sme spoločne vytvorili kruh, ktorý sa neuzatvára, a potvrdili, že domov, ktorý nosíme v sebe, nás dokáže spájať a vytvárať jednu veľkú rodinu – aj ďaleko od domova.

We extend our sincere thanks to Andrej Droba, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the United States, and Beatrice Szabóová, Consul General of the Slovak Republic, for their personal attendance at the 12th Veselica Gala, for their continued support, and for their close connection to the Slovak community. Our gratitude also goes to the entire team of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Washington, DC for their cooperation and support.
We were honored by the presence of the Honorary Consuls of the Slovak Republic in the United States, especially the newly appointed Honorary Consul in Chicago, Joseph Seliga, as well as Honorary Consul in Naperville Rosemary Macko Wisnosky, accompanied by her husband Dennis Wisnosky.
With great respect, we also welcomed Gregory J. Fasing (Denver), Edward Zelenák (Detroit), Joseph Senko (Pittsburgh), and Dr. Cecilia Rokusek, Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Florida and President and CEO of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.

Veselica Slovak Cultural Organization warmly congratulates Joseph Seliga on his appointment as Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Chicago and wishes him great success as he begins this important role.

We thank him for his continued support of our organization and look forward to future cooperation, new cultural projects, and shared initiatives that will further strengthen the ties between Slovakia and the Slovak-American community in Chicago.

About Veselica

Slovak Cultural Organization Veselica was established in 1999 by a group of young Slovak immigrants who met in Chicago. They shared the same dream and passion to preserve Slovak folklore, customs, and traditions thousands of miles away from their homeland.

Today, Veselica has about 30 adult members including dancers, singers, its own cimbalom music band, and children’s ensemble Veselička (with more than 50 children).

Veselica’s repertoire includes numbers from several regions of Slovakia such as Liptov, Spiš, Šariš, Zemplín, Goral, and Horehron.
