Príbeh slovenských emigrantov, ktorí odišli za oceán hľadať nový život. O ich začiatkoch v novej krajine, priateľstvách, spomienkach na domov – a o koreňoch, ktoré si odniesli so sebou.
Príbeh rozprávaný tancom, hudbou, slovom a emóciou v spoločnom projekte Východná Slovak Dancers – Toronto a Veselica – Chicago.
Príďte s nami prežiť príbeh, ktorý je možno aj príbehom vašich rodičov, starých rodičov… alebo vás samotných.

What a weekend! 🎉🥟💃

Veselica & Veselička had an incredible time bringing the energy of Slovak folk dance to Pierogi Fest! Every performance was filled with excitement, and it was wonderful to celebrate our culture with so many people throughout the weekend.

Pierogi Fest has been a favorite tradition for Veselica for many years, and we're always grateful to be part of this amazing festival. One of the highlights is getting to see and share the stage with other talented groups. It was great to reconnect with our friends from Canada, Vychodna Slovak Dancers and FS Domovina Dancers! 🤗🎶🎻🪗

A huge thank you to Martin Dybel and the entire Pierogi Fest organizing team for inviting us and for putting together such a fantastic event. And, of course, the biggest thank you goes to everyone who stopped by to watch, cheer, clap, and support our dancers. We had an absolute blast, and we can't wait to see you again! ❤️🇸🇰

❤️🇸🇰 We are proud to announce a special collaboration between 🇺🇸 Veselica Slovak Cultural Organization of Chicago and 🇨🇦 Vychodna Slovak Dancers of Toronto. 🇸🇰❤️

For the first time, our two ensembles will come together on one stage to present joint Slovak Folk dance production “Zostalo to v nás” (“It Stayed Within Us”).

This collaboration carries special meaning in the year the United States celebrates its 250th Anniversary. We honor the generations of Slovak immigrants who helped build America—bringing with them their traditions, resilience, culture, and shaping the communities we call home today.

Their story is part of America’s story.

No matter where we live, the thread of heritage continues to connect us across generations and across oceans.

Don’t miss this special project with more than 80 performers from Chicago and Toronto sharing the powerful story of Slovak emigration to North America.

🇺🇸❤️ Happy 250th Birthday, America! ❤️🇺🇸

Today, as the United States celebrates 250 years of freedom, we proudly join millions in honoring this remarkable milestone.

For more than 27 years, Veselica Slovak Cultural Organization has been honored to be a small part of America's story.

Since 1999, we have celebrated and shared the beauty of Slovak music, dance, traditions, and heritage while embracing the values that make this country a place where cultures from around the world can flourish together.

America's strength has always come from the many communities who have contributed their traditions, talents, and dreams to this nation. We are proud that generations of Slovak immigrants and Slovak Americans have helped build that legacy and proud that Veselica continues to preserve and share this rich heritage for future generations.

As we celebrate this historic anniversary, we also celebrate the friendships, opportunities, and freedom that allow our culture to thrive.

Happy Independence Day, and Happy 250th Birthday! 🇺🇸

🌞🎶 Veselička Welcomed Summer at the Slovak Mission's 3rd Anniversary Picnic! 🎶🌞

On Sunday, June 7, members of the Veselička Children's Folklore Ensemble performed at "Hurá Leto" (Hello Summer), the 3rd Anniversary Picnic of the Slovak Mission in Palos Hills.

All age groups of our young folklorists took the stage—from the youngest kindergarten-aged children, to the intermediate group ages 6 to 9, and the advanced group ages 10 to 14 as well as our adult and youth Music Band Veselica. Most of children attend the Slovak Academy of Chicago where, alongside learning the Slovak language, geography, and history, they strengthen their connection to their Slovak roots, traditions, folk songs, and dance.

❤️🇸🇰 Congratulations to the Slovak Catholic Mission In Chicago on its 3rd anniversary and thank you for inviting Veselička to be part of this wonderful celebration.

🎻 🇸🇰 We would also like to thank all of our children for their beautiful performance, once again demonstrating that Slovak folklore continues to thrive even far from our homeland.

📸🎥 Here are some photos from the performance.

📢 Does your child enjoy dancing, music, and Slovak traditions? Now is a great time to register them to Veselička!
