Southeast Side of Chicago Food Pantry

Just for your information: The Southeast Side of Chicago Food Pantry will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from the hours of 1pm to 3pm.
Due to the mentioned weather changes (Thunderstorms with lightening including high winds) once the pantry opens at 1pm, there might be a very strong chance that the food pantry will close EARLIER than 3pm, if the storm becomes too strong. But it will be the chance that we will take . We are concerned about your safety and the volunteer’s safety, as well.

Do NOT arrive and come earlier than 12:30pm , PLEASE! Number cards will be passed out.

We are concerned for everyone’s well being & safety!!

See you, weather permitting by 1pm!!

Good Evening, Good Morning, Good Afternoon or whenever you happen to read this post.
Just a friendly reminder that the Food Pantry will be open today, Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm.
PLEASE do not leave any items(carts, bags, etc. in the line up area and LEAVE……. If the items mentioned are left unattended, they shall be removed and taken and/or thrown away!
PLEASE, DO NOT arrive to the line up area NO EARLIER than 11:45 am in order to receive the hard number cards ! Many of you are still coming to line up way too early to be in line! The neighbors are not liking the loud music (there is a noise ordinance in residential areas, not just at night or in business areas…. Be forewarned !), Loud talking and the garbage that is thrown by the parked cars, instead either taking the trash to the cans or taking your trash with you! Please be respectful of the neighbors!!

Until we receive accurate confirmation on when this “project” with the City will start, I will continue to post this message, so when it really does happen, no one can say that they were not informed:
As of yet, the “project” from the city,that was supposed to start in the area of 114th by GreenBay Avenue, since the week of 3/16/2026, the work still has not started due to issues.
We are hoping that once the city gets ready to start the work , the city will give the food pantry enough time for us to notify our clients.
As of now, it’s going to be a bit of a waiting game . We hope , that once the city does start their “project” that they will be quick about it!

Just a friendly reminder that the Food Pantry will be open today, Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm.

Just a friendly reminder that the Southeast Side of Chicago Food Pantry will be open , today , Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 1pm to 3pm.

Again , please do not come to the pantry’s location no earlier than 11:45am for line up. Also, DO NOT leave any type of items to “mark your spot” and leave the area(even by sitting in your car , that means that you’re too early!), your items will be removed (by the Director) and you will be asked to stand at the end of the line!

As of now, we will be open Today, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm. And we will still be closed next week , Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
We will keep you, the client informed as much as we can once we receive any other type of information.

Just a friendly reminder that the Southeast Side of Chicago Food Pantry will be OPEN on today, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm.

As of yet, “The Project” from the City, that was supposed to start in the area of 114th Street by Greenbay Avenue, since the week of 3/16/2026, the work still has not started, still due to issues.

We are hoping that once the City gets ready to start the work, the City will give the food pantry enough time for us to notify our clients and for the food pantry to make the needed arrangements .

So sorry for the inconvenience that these issues will/ might be causing.
We will keep you updated as much as we can & as soon as we can.

Buenas Dias, Buenas Tardes, Buenas Noches o cuando sea que leas esta noticia.

Vamos estar abierto , hoy , Miércoles, el 15 de Abril, 2026 de 1pm hasta las 3pm.

Hasta ahora, “El proyecto”de la Ciudad, que estaba supuesto a comenzar en el area de la calle 114 cerca la Avenida Greenbay, desde la semana de la 16 de Marzo, el trabajo todavía no ha comenzado, por problemas fuera de nuestra control.

Esperamos que el servicio se mantenga sin interrupciones, al menos durante un tiempo razonable.

Lamentamos mucho los inconvenientes que estos problemas puedan ocasionar.
Les mantendremos informados lo antes posible y lo mas pronto posible.

Gracias adelantado por su tiempo y cooperación con estas problemas.

Good Morning, Good Afternoon to all!

As was mentioned to the clients who were at this food pantry OVER TWO Months ago, NO ONE , and I mean NO ONE is to line up and leave their bags, carts, cable box(?) or anything else to “hold a spot in line” for yourself and/ or anyone else from now on!!
And as you see, as of this morning…… it is still being ignored! BUT, the items are not there any more……I removed them!

I will be giving actual hard card numbers out for those who arrive by 12 noon.
You are not to leave your food carrying items in a spot in line, leave, then return at the time of distribution……then let your friend, relative or anyone else in line with you!! Not fair or unacceptable at this particular food pantry any more!!

I took pictures of items that were left in the snow / on the ground today. If /when you show up I will NOT give you a number for where YOU think you are supposed to be in line!! Since you decided to come early when you were not supposed to be here, you will be sent to the back of the line by me, the Director. And if you decide to still sneak in line without a number, you will be asked to go to the end of the line , with the number that I will give you.
You are NOT supposed to block the way into the pantry on 114th St. with your vehicle or for that matter, park on the grassy side of 114th Street, or enter from 116th street and park on the private roadway, period!! There is signage on the poles on the city street.

If your items are shown in these pictures, you need to see the Director, period!!

See you by 12 noon for number distribution & 1pm for food distribution!!

Como se les mention a los clientes que estuvieron en esta despensa hace ya MÁS de Dos Meses, NADIEN y quiero decir NADIEN, debe hacer fila y dejar a sus bolsas, carritos, descodificador de cable, ni nada para “guardar un lugar en la fila”para si mismo o para cualquier otra persona de ahora en adelante!
Y como pueden ver, desde esta mañana….siguen ignorándolo! PERO, los artículos ya no están…..Los quite!
Les daré números de tarjeta físicos a quienes lleguen un poco antes de mediodía.

No deben dejar sus artículos para llevar comida en un lugar de la fila, irse y luego regresar en el momento de la distribución... ¡y luego dejar que su amigo, familiar o cualquier otra persona en la fila los acompañe! ¡Ya no es justo ni inaceptable en esta despensa de alimentos en particular!
Tomé fotos de los artículos que se dejaron en la nieve /en la tierra hoy. Si/ cuando lleges, NO te daré un número donde usted pense donde deberías estar en línea!!
No estas supuesto estacionarse donde esta la entrada en la calle 114th or entra por la calle 116 en estacionarse en la calle privada, Punto!! Como decidiste llegar temprano cuando no debías estar aquí, yo, la directora, te enviaré al final de la fila.
Y si decides colarte sin número, te pediré que vayas al final de la fila, con el número que te daré.
Si tus artículos aparecen en estas fotos, ¡debes ver a la directora! ¡Punto!
¡Nos vemos a las 12 del mediodía para la distribución de números y a la 1 p. m. para la distribución de alimentos!
