Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, or whenever you read this post.
The Southeast Side of Chicago Food Pantry will be open Today, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from the hours of 1pm to 3pm .

Due to the fluctuating temperatures plus rain with possible Thunderstorms that are in today’s weather forecast for the Chicago area, The Food Pantry is suggesting that any clients , PLEASE do not arrive / line up any earlier than 12:30pm, for the hard card number pass out.

We are thinking about the clients as well as the volunteers safety during these extremely high / low temperatures. And we do know that a few clients will still ignore what we are trying to do for their well being.

We shall see everyone by 12:30pm!

We at the Food Pantry sympathize with all of you on all that has occurred with this weather situation.
As I type this message , again it has started to rain, but not as horrific as it did yesterday.

I stand corrected,the rain is now almost like it was yesterday but the wind is not as strong!

PLEASE, DO NOT come to the FOOD PANTRY until 12:30pm -1:00pm , or until the rain slows down.
DO NOT stay inside your parked cars, waiting……stay at home as long as you can!!

I will notify everyone on this page whenever the weather tries to clear.

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening to all, whenever you read this post.
The Southeast Side of Chicago Food Pantry WILL be open today, July 8, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm.

We already know that some of the clients disregard when we encourage them to do the right things for their own well being and physical safety, especially during inclement (bad) weather, just like we are expierencing today with the heat index getting close or at the triple digit mark.

We at the Food Pantry are asking that NO ONE arrive to the line up area at the food pantry until 12:30pm today, for your own safety. We already have seen some people try because the “tree shade” will keep them cool……Not true!!
Humidity leads to dehydration……. So, Please do not arrive to the food pantry until 12:30 pm.

Hard Card number distribution will be at 12:30pm, and when you register, PLEASE leave the hard card number at the front desk!!

See everyone at 12:30pm for hard card distribution.

Just for your information: The Southeast Side of Chicago Food Pantry will be open today, Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from the hours of 1pm to 3pm.
Due to the mentioned weather changes , like last week, (Thunderstorms with lightening including high winds) once the pantry opens at 1pm, there might be a very strong chance that the food pantry will close EARLIER than 3pm, if the storm becomes too strong. But it will be the chance that we will take . We are concerned about your safety and the volunteer’s safety, as well.

Do NOT arrive and come earlier than 12:30pm , PLEASE! Number cards will be passed out.

We are concerned for everyone’s well being & safety!!

See you, weather permitting by 1pm!!
