2026/27 NEW ARTIST | Welcoming T’aja Williams T originally from Sacramento, California and Bermuda

T’aja Williams was raised in Sacramento, California, and Bermuda. She is an alumn of the Grier School and George Mason University with a BFA in Dance. T’aja also received an Outstanding Service To The Field Award from the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Miss Williams has had the privilege of working with Susan Shields, Shaun Boyle D’Arcy, Christopher dAmboise, Lawrence Jackson, Kate Weare, Mike Tyus, Luca Francesco Renzi, Joshua Manculich, Nicole von Arx, and Darrel Grande Moultrie. She has gained experience through the Paul Taylor Summer Intensive, Alonzo King Lines Summer Program, American Dance Festival, the International Association of Blacks in Dance, Whim W’Him Summer Dance Intensive, and Doug Varone’s Winter Workshop.

T’aja has premiered five choreographed works throughout her undergraduate education, titled Reconciliation I, Oh My Gosh!, Salt and Light, This Isn’t Your Story To Tell, and Amidst.

2026/27 NEW ARTIST | Welcoming Tyler Chang originally from New York City.

Tyler Chang, a multidisciplinary Chinese-American artist, was born and raised in New York City. They began their dance education at LaGuardia High School, additionally training at Broadway Dance Center, Ballet Hispánico, and MOVE|NYC|. 

Tyler earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California (USC) Glorya Kaufman School of Dance on an artistic-excellence scholarship with a concentration in performance and a minor in Business Finance. Throughout their time at USC Kaufman, they performed original works by Kyle Abraham, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Saleemah E. Knight, Bret Easterling, Tyce Diorio, and Jennifer Lott as well as restaged works by Christopher Wheeldon, Jiří Kylián, Hope Boykin, and Shahar Binyamini.

Professionally, Tyler has performed in In Search of an Exit, an evening length work by Thomas Ford and Steven Atwater, and in DiscoFoot by Tom Caley and Petter Jacobsson.
 
In addition to their collegiate studies, Tyler studied at The School at Jacob’s Pillows contemporary program, Springboard Danse Pittsburgh, Orsolina 28, and the Ballets Jazz Montréal summer intensive, where they performed works by Wayne McGregor, Sharon Eyal, Laja Field, Juliano Nunes, Florian Lochner/Alice Klock (FLOCK), and Andonis Foniadakis. They additionally were a 2025 Arnhold summer fellow studying dance education and leadership. 

Tyler is thrilled to begin their first season with Visceral Dance Chicago where they look forward to continued growth and exploration as a dance artist and maker.

2026/27 NEW ARTIST | Welcoming Mandy Fang mandy fang originally from San Francisco, CA

Bay Area native, Mandy Fang, is an Asian American dancer and choreographer who has been in process with Dwight Rhoden, Jodie Gates, and Peter Chu. She has performed “Steps in the Street” alongside the Martha Graham Dance Company and premiered Dwight Rhoden’s “Random Acts” at the Joyce Theater next to the Complexions Contemporary Ballet company. She was recently recognized as a 2026 Laguna Dance Emerging Artist, and has attended training programs with Lines Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Orsolina28, Ballet BC, Laguna Dance, b12 and Springboard Danse. Mandy earned her BFA in Dance Performance and BA in Public Relations/Advertising as well as an Asian American Studies minor at Chapman University. While at Chapman, she has published interdisciplinary research combining dance and anthropology, earned over $6,000 in research grants. Mandy’s research has taken her abroad to Canada, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. Mandy is eager to pursue performance, creation, and continued growth with Visceral.
