# 💜 Team Colleen Forever: Join Us for the 15th Annual Dash for Detection 💜
Friends and family, it's that time of year again. On **June 7th at Montrose Beach, Chicago**, we'll be walking or running in memory of my beautiful wife Colleen at The Dash For Detection.
This will mark our **8th year** as The Colleen Claffey Memorial Run, and I'm incredibly proud to share that together, our friends have raised **over $225,000** to fund critical research for early detection of pancreatic cancer. As many of you know, most patients don't discover they have pancreatic cancer until it's reached Stage 4. It remains the 3rd leading cause of cancer deaths, claiming over 52,000 lives annually across the United States.
Our family lived through this nightmare over nine years ago. Colleen visited four hospitals seeking answers for what was diagnosed as "gastrointestinal problems." It wasn't until we sent her medical records to the Mayo Clinic that she received a proper diagnosis—but by then, her chances were heartbreakingly slim.
I continue this fight because I don't want any other family to experience the pain and loss we've endured. As Chairman of this race, I'm asking for your support in three possible ways:

A huge thanks to all who dashed or donated to the Rolfe Foundation to fund pancreatic cancer research. Team Colleen Claffey hit our 2022 goal of $15,000 bringing us to $153,172 since the formation of the team. Special thanks to Mike Claffey and LeAnn Linehan for the extra efforts which helped us reach our goal. Where does the money go?
