The National Cancer Institute reports that 50% of cancer caregivers experience high emotional stress, while 43% need help managing emotional and physical stress.

Access to the right resources can make a difference. At Sisters Working It Out, we believe no survivor or caregiver should have to navigate the cancer journey alone.

Finishing cancer treatment is a major milestone, but it doesn’t mean the journey is over.

Cancer survivors may continue to navigate physical, emotional, social, and financial challenges long after treatment ends. Sometimes, what’s needed most is a place to feel supported, understood, and cared for.

That’s why Sisters Working It Out’s Annual Day of Beauty matters.

It’s a day created to remind survivors and caregivers that their well-being matters, too. A day to pause, connect, access helpful resources, celebrate strength, and feel cared for beyond treatment.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Black women deserve equitable access to ovarian cancer care, from diagnosis through treatment.

Ovarian cancer health disparities exist worldwide and in the U.S. Ovarian Cancer disproportionately affects African American women at every stage of the disease, from diagnosis through treatment, contributing to higher mortality and lower survival rates when compared with non-Hispanic White women.

Knowing your risk is one way to take charge of your health. Family history matters, especially if a mother, daughter, or sister has had ovarian cancer. Other risk factors can include inherited changes in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes, Lynch syndrome, endometriosis, obesity, and older age.

Know your family history. Know your risk. Talk with your healthcare provider about your concerns.
