The Jackson Park Golf Association continues to build through its caddie program, now in its third year, proving that it truly takes a village to create opportunity.

From learning the game to gaining life skills, safety training, and access to educational opportunities, these young caddies are being prepared for more than just the course.

When Doors Open Lives Change ⛳️

The Jackson Park Golf Association recently visited Northwestern University, where our junior golfers had the chance to train at the Wildcat Golf Academy a world-class NCAA training facility.

This experience was made possible by JPGA Junior Ambassador Nadiya Kundu, whose vision and effort created this opportunity for fellow junior golfers. Because of her work, our students will now have access to monthly training sessions led by Northwestern’s golf coaches.

We’re grateful to the Northwestern coaching staff for opening their doors and investing in the growth of these young athletes.

Opportunities like this matter. They build confidence, expand horizons, and continue to grow the game the right way, for all to have access.

A long time coming for the South Side of Chicago. ⛳

As the Chicago Park District begins renovation on South Shore Golf Course and Jackson Park Golf Course, this moment reflects a community that patiently persevered and never stopped believing in the future of these courses.

For generations, golfers have shown up, spoke up, and stayed committed to the game, helping push this vision forward. The Jackson Park Golf Association is proud to have been part of that voice.

With new upgrades and a brand new practice facility on the way, this is more than a restoration, it’s a new chapter.

We thank the golfers,past and present, who made this possible, and extend our appreciation to the Chicago Park District for investing in this South Side gem and for hiring Troon! We extend our appreciation to Troon.

The future of golf on the South Side is bright.

As we wrap up this program at Deneen School of Excellence, we’re proud of the growth these students have shown, both in their game and in their character. ⛳

On our final day, we celebrated with awards for every student and gifted three golf bags, recognizing their effort, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.

Golf is a game built on integrity, and these students showed nothing but love for the game and respect for one another from start to finish.

Programs like this are more than just golf. They’re about building character, confidence, and opportunity. And they’re needed.

As we head into our final days of the program, it’s been amazing to hear these students share how much they’ve learned and how much they’ve grown to love the game of golf. ⛳

Moments like this show why programs like this are so important in schools. The impact goes beyond the game.

The growth has been amazing to watch. ⛳

In just a few weeks, these students at Deneen School of Excellence have been picking up the fundamentals of putting and learning the game of golf at a rapid pace. But what’s even more powerful is how the game is starting to stick with them beyond the program.

One student even shared that she’s been watching golf at home, holding onto her golf ball and studying the game. Moments like that show that this experience is becoming more than just a lesson. It’s becoming a passion.

Along the way, they’re building confidence, patience, and respect, both on and off the green.

This is how the next generation of golfers begins. 🌱

One of the most powerful parts of this program is seeing the kids start to teach and encourage each other. 🏌🏽‍♀️

In this moment, one student helps another with their putting. Showing that they’re not only learning the fundamentals of golf, but also the values that come with it.

Patience, teamwork, and respect.

Programs like this at Deneen School of Excellence show how quickly the game can inspire young people. The students are engaged, supporting one another, and most importantly they’re loving the game.

This is what growing the game looks like. 🌱

For the past five weeks, the Jackson Park Golf Association has had the privilege of working with 1st–3rd grade students at Deneen School of Excellence, introducing them to the game of golf. ⛳

Through this program, students are learning more than just how to swing a club. They are learning the fundamentals of golf etiquette; values that translate beyond the course and into everyday life, including patience, discipline, and respect.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the leadership and staff at Deneen School of Excellence, especially Mrs. Karla D. Kemp, for welcoming us and supporting this opportunity for their students. We also want to thank Nadiya Kundu, Ambassador for JPGA, for her support in helping make this program possible.

Lastly, we thank the Chicago Police Department Officer Nichyria Byrd, the Youth Liaison Officer from the 3rd District Community Policing team, for making the connection to Deneen and supporting our efforts to bring this program to the youth.
