🌙 *1st Muharram 1448 AH Mubarak* 🌙
The NIA Executive Board extends warm greetings to our community and Muslims around the world on the blessed occasion of the beginning of 1448 AH.
May this new Islamic year bring peace, faith, good health, unity, and abundant blessings to you and your families. May Allah guide us to righteousness and grant us success in this life and the Hereafter.
Our Mission Board reminds us about the recommended acts during this sacred month.
1. Increase Voluntary Fasting. The Prophet ﷺ said:, "The best fasting after Ramadan is fasting in Allah's month, Muharram." It is recommended to fast the 9th and 10th (or 10th and 11th) to distinguish Muslim practice from others.
2. Engage in Extra Prayers: Be punctual with the five daily prayers. Increase voluntary prayers (Sunnah and Nafl prayers).
3. Read and Reflect on the Qur'an
4. Make Abundant Dhikr and Du'a
5. Give Charity
6. Renew Your Intentions to assess your relationship with Allah and reset spiritual goals.
7. Perform Acts of Kindness by strengthening family ties, help neighbors, visit the sick, and promote unity in the community.
8. Learn from the Significance of Ashura. Reflect on Allah's mercy and the historical events associated with this blessed day. Teach children and family members about its virtues.
Happy New Islamic Year 1448 AH.
Muharram Mubarak!
