In the words of Dwayne from What’s Happening, hey, hey, hey…..I know there is an entire generation of people who won’t even know what “What’s Happening” is. It’s been a long while since Men of Purpose has made a post, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been working at transforming minds, & transforming lives.

The Buganda School of Excellence has been functioning as a Pre to Kindergarten school for the past three years. We have just been authorized by Burundi’s government to become a primary school where we will began operating as such in September 2025. That comes with a set of new challenges, that I will talk about at a later time. This post is simply to showcase the triumphs of our kids. I wanted to let you all know it would not have been possible without the financial support that you. the community, has given. I am forever grateful to you for helping my vision become a reality.

Just like the school motto “Transformer les esprits, Transformer les vies” (Transforming minds, Transforming lives). We’ve really transformed the lives of these young people. I wish you could hear the stories of the lives changed, & the kids who were unable to communicate prior to starting the school. It is sometimes overwhelming. Stay tuned for more.

Men of Purpose has been at work again, in both Chicago & Burundi. Those what have been following us know about the school that the program opened last year in Burundi. Well this year an additional classroom was built and we welcomed an additional 19 students. The school now has a total of 44 students enrolled in grades K & 1st grade. Our Chicago chapter recently took a group of our boys camping for the weekend, which included rock climbing and a trip to Go Apes Adventure course.

Children are a gift from God & I feel it’s my responsibility to pour into the next generation of leaders.

We concluded our Kigali Dr. Munroe’s Legacy Celebration with the Purpose-Driven Success Brunch, centered on harmonizing family, business (profession), and life assignment.

Destry Wilborn highlighted the importance of raising men of purpose, while Charisa Munroe-Wilborn shared a formula called “LIFE” to help individuals discover and fulfill their purpose. Amb. Charlie Masala explained that one’s purpose is to solve problems and serve others, and Hubert Sugira H. emphasized that if you are not winning at home, you are not winning at all.

The day included a dynamic Q&A session with all the speakers, and even babies were in attendance. Charisa’s LIFE formula stands for Legacy, Interests, Finding a problem to solve, and putting extra effort into what you do effortlessly.

We concluded the day with a graduation ceremony for the first cohort of the Mastering Relationships Program, a 12-week course with three modules on the fundamentals of successful relationships. What a meaningful way to honor the legacy of Dr. Myles & Ruth Munroe!
