Chicago Asian American Festival

Chicago Asian American Festival Washington Street on May 16-20, 2011 from 11am to 5pm. International diplomats and elected officials have been invited to attend.

The Asian American Coalition of Chicago, along with host community, Thai American of Illinois, and the Asian American Festival Committee will join together in celebrating "The 13th Annual Asian American Festival" to recognize the month of May as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at Daley Plaza at 50 W. Opening Ceremony will commence Monday, May 16th (Lily Kim's birthday) at 11:45am with a cult

ural parade displaying each Asian American community's native attire. Special Thai Classical Dancers will perform. This year, the festival will showcase Asian-ethnic cuisines from Chicagoland restaurants and Asian influenced merchandise. Also lending additional color to the week's festivities include; fashions showcase, musical performances, and an arts, crafts and fruit demonstrations.
