Thanks to the 30+ neighbors (including someone who's been here 37 years, and another for 1 week!) who came out to clean along Wabash Ave for GSLA's Clean and Green. We came, we saw, we picked up lots of litter, raked out some storm drains, and thanks to Jet's Pizza, had a great lunch afterwards! Thank you all!

GSLA is going to launch the South Loop Sweepers, a monthly meet-up to do more cleaning and greening around the neighborhood. Look for more info soon!

Happy Earth Day! This Saturday morning (as in tomorrow, April 23), from 8:30am to 11:00am, we'll be cleaning up along Wabash, between Roosevelt and 18th Street... and there's plenty to clean up! Register now and join us at Coliseum Park at 8:30am for donuts and coffee, and then we'll fan out to pick up a winter's worth of litter and debris. Thanks to Jet's Pizza, all volunteers also a get a free small pizza in appreciation for their hard work. See you tomorrow!

Hello! We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to share their thoughts on the casino proposal for The 78. We also appreciate The 78 Community Advisory Council reaching out for neighborhood input in advance of developing their own position.

Wondering why there is no survey about any of the other proposed casino sites? Simply put, to our knowledge the City has not convened Community Advisory Councils for any of the “mega developments” in the city other than The 78 or Lincoln Yards.

The 78 is a mixed-use project planned by developer Related Midwest for 62 acres of former railroad property along the South Branch of the Chicago River. The 78 is bounded by Roosevelt Rd to the north, Clark St to the east, 15th St to the south and the Chicago River to the west. The Community Advisor...
