The Next Movement was founded 12 years ago with the purpose of ending Mass Incarceration in America. Many people can't imagine a country when prisons are unnecessary. Join us this evening, March 7, 2023, at 6:30pm Central Time as we explore ideas on how we can get to this marvelous future, and what it might look like.

Find out more, and register, at the link below.

Over the last forty years, the era of mass incarceration has seen the U.S. prison population rise by five hundred percent. Once all the appeals have been filed, and failed to bring a loved one home from prison, the last hope is often a commutation of the sentence by the governor. That process starts with a clemency petition. This workshop will show you how to create an effective clemency petition, that will then be sent to the Prison Review Board for consideration. Only upon their approval with the governor receive the request for a final determination.

If someone you know is looking to file a request for clemency so that their sentence an be commuted, you need to attend this workshop.

For years now we've been introducing bills to save taxpayers money while simultaneously doing the right thing.

Right now there are men and women that have spent 25, 30, even 40 years or more in our prisons that have completely changed. They have completed degrees, they have become mentors and even religious leaders . . . they have completely reformed themselves. Of course, there are also many that are now confined to wheelchairs, that suffer from dementia and other diseases. These men and women are absolutely no threat to society or their communities, yet there is no way for the system to recognize that and send them home. HB 2045 is yet another attempt to provide a second chance. Take a look at the video and click on the link below it to add you name to the list of people that believe common sense, morally correct, legislation should be passed.

Congratulations Family!

WE DID IT! Nearly 7 years of organizing, planning and activism and finally "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" has real meaning for all Illinois citizens, not just those that can afford money bail. Praise God!

\Today, the Illinois House of Representatives and Senate passed House Bill 1095 Senate Amendment 2, a SAFE-T Act trailer bill that amends portions of the Pretrial Fairness Act. The passage of HB1095 SA2 is a testament to the fact communities across Illinois have stood by this legislation even as rig...
