Chicago's South + West Side neighborhoods are transforming, one home at a time. 155 homes total will gotten underway by the end of 2024, bringing stability and hope to our working families.

Lead organizer Amy Totsch emphasizes: “This is really a strategy that is led and shaped and driven by local institutions and seeking out a strategy for vacant land for the population loss in many of the neighborhoods for decades of disinvestment.”

Those local institutions, with support from local, state, and private partners, this effort is reclaiming Chicago, lot by lot.

These smiles of folks becoming homeowners will be happening more and more as part of Reclaiming Chicago's mission to build 500 affordable homes in the city of Chicago. These new homes are being developed in, Back of the Yards, Chicago Lawn, North Lawndale and Washington Park.

Our dedicated members at Lawndale Christian Development Corporation - LCDC, The Resurrection Project, Southwest Organizing Project, Hope Center Foundation of Chicago, Hope Center Foundation of Chicago, IFF and Sunshine Gospel Ministries are doing their part to lift communities and give families the opportunity to build generational wealth.
