PRO Does this:
- Establishes a Landlord Registry
- Creates Right to Counsel for those in Eviction Court.
- Creates Renter Protection Bureau for enforcement of city laws regarding
landlords and tenants
- Expands the existing law created by Mayor Harold Washington, the Residential
Landlord Tenant Ordinance to all renters (currently on applicable to buildings 6
units and above)
- Creates Just Cause for Evictions, which creates protections for renters who
experience no fault evictions.

If you support these protections for rentsrs then click this link to email your alderperson to tell them you want them to represent you by supporting the Protecting Renters Ordinance (PRO).

This week we announced the formation of the CBA for the 78 coalition. This coalition is led by the Lugenia Burns Hope Center, People Matter and Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC). This coalition is committed to putting community first in the development of the 78th neighborhood. Our tax dollars should not go toward building exclusive communities or pushing neighboring residents out of their homes through gentrification.
