Every classic car that rolls into our shop carries more than rust and old paint.
It carries a story. And so does every young person who walks through our doors.
Since 2007, the Automotive Mentoring Group has been changing lives on the South Side of Chicago. We teach youth and adults the art of classic car restoration, bodywork, and mechanical repair. But what we are really doing is building confidence, discipline, and a future.
More than 300 young men and women have come through our program. Many have earned their high school diplomas, gone on to college, or landed jobs and apprenticeships in the automotive industry. Some came to us with nowhere else to turn. They leave with skills, purpose, and a community that believes in them.
If you believe in second chances and the power of skilled trades to change a life, we invite you to learn more, volunteer, or donate a vehicle. We offer free pickup throughout the Chicagoland area.

These are pictures from last week when we went on a field trip a special invite from the Obama foundation for us to come and see the library before it was open to the general public it was an awesome experience one that everyone should see and included everyone of all races in all ages everybody was super kind from the greeters when you come in the front door to the tour guides that showed you around the library to the janitors in the groundskeepers even the construction workers everybody was kind

This was an event on Saturday that we took the Ella car to it's a barbecue hosted by a mother and daughter in the neighborhood of Garfield ridge to support the police officers that are working in Chicago over the three-day memorial Day weekend we provide free food free drinks water and of course AMG is getting complimentary ci**rs to all the patrol officers so that they can relax for the 30 or 40 minutes that they have an opportunity to share a meal they're always excited about the Ella car a lot of the younger officers have never seen a car that old before as a patrol car and it serves for a lot of wonderful photo ops they're also was the alderman from that ward stopped by. Also the Republican candidate that is running for governor of Illinois with his wife stopped by. Susie was walking around talking to everybody and giving out the good stop brochures placards to explain our good stop training that we're doing to protect these officers while they're out on the streets of Chicago

At Automotive Mentoring Group, we're committed to making those dreams real for the next generation. The same values that define our military — discipline, dedication, and showing up — are the values we teach every day in the shop.
