Peruvian Arts Society The Peruvian Arts Society was founded on July 26th, 1963, and chartered as a non-profit organization in the State of Illinois in January of 1964.

with other groups and organizations with the same endeavors. The purpose of this organization is to increase the popularity of our common interests. We hope to add new members so we will be able to grow and expand. We also want to have fun while when we are together and working on projects. By developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger.

El Consulado General del Perú en Chicago tiene el agrado de invitar a la comunidad a la conferencia “Forging Peru–United States Scientific Collaboration through Archaeology and Bioarchaeology”, en el marco del 200° aniversario del establecimiento de relaciones diplomáticas entre el Perú y los Estados Unidos.

El evento contará con la participación de los destacados académicos Jane E. Buikstra (Arizona State University) y John W. Rick (Stanford University), y se llevará a cabo el martes 5 de mayo de 2026, a las 10:00 a.m., en el Ward Hall del Field Museum of Natural History (1400 S. DuSable Lake Shore Dr., Chicago, IL 60605).

Se informa que no es necesario realizar registro previo para asistir. Asimismo, se recomienda utilizar el West Entrance, por ser el acceso más cercano al auditorio.

Con gran tristeza recibimos la triste noticia del sensible fallecimiento del querido y recordado Dr. Luis Vásquez. Nuestro más profundo pésame a su familia. QEPD.

Con profundo pesar, comunicamos el sensible fallecimiento del Dr. Luis Vásquez, ocurrido hoy sábado 02 de mayo del 2026, en los Estados Unidos.
Sus restos serán cremados en Chicago para luego ser trasladados a Yantaló y sean esparcidas junto a su madre en la piedra roja de la Clínica Yantaló su gran obra, como él siempre lo quiso.
El Dr. Vásquez será recordado por su invaluable labor, compromiso y vocación de servicio en favor de la salud y educación de nuestro querido Distrito de Yantaló. Su dedicación incansable, su calidad humana y su entrega a cada paciente dejaron una huella imborrable en nuestra comunidad.
Hoy expresamos nuestro más sincero agradecimiento por todos los años de esfuerzo, por cada vida atendida y por su permanente disposición de servir con nobleza y profesionalismo.

Please join us on Thursday, May 14, from 4:30–6:00pm in Arts & Letters 102 for a book launch celebration hosted by the Center for Latino Research and the Department of Latin American and Latino Studies.

We will be celebrating recent publications by two of our affiliated faculty members: Rocío Ferreira (De las Veladas literarias de Lima, 1876–1877 a la cocina ecléctica: mujeres, nación y cultura en el Perú decimonónico) and Susana Martínez (Coming of Age(ncy) on the Migrant Trail: Adolescent Journeys in Contemporary Latinx Young Adult Literature).

Light refreshments will be served.
