Not sure if you want new ink? That’s okay too! We will also be excepting donated items like treats, toys, and cleaning supplies to bring back to the shelter. Plus, there will be a few oldish stopping by throughout the day! 🖤

Lance & Bryson went on a field trip today. We went to visit their trainer, Rachel Findley, and Shelter Manager, Abby, from Chicago Canine Rescue. TAF is partnering up with CCR to find forever homes for both Lance and Bryson. Lance (on the left) is scheduled to have dental surgery on the 8th but Bryson is ready for adoption now. Both pups are dog and people friendly.

Long stay foster highlight: Meet Buffy 🖤 CCR resident since October!

Buffy may be a little shy when you first meet her, but once you earn her trust, you become her person! The kind of girl that is the quiet, loyal, curl-up-next-to-you kind of pup.

Her foster says she’s doing great on potty training, loves cuddling on the dog couch, and enjoys hanging out with her dog friends. She’s the perfect mix of sweet and gentle.

She would do wonderfully in a quiet home with a dog friend. She absolutely LOVES small dogs and puppies 🥹 trust us when we say there is no better feeling than befriending a shy dog! Become her bff today & submit an adoption survey!

Nyx isn't nursing as much as we would like her to - so we are supplementing the babies feeding schedule with a mixture of wet food/water. BUT we are now down to 6 cans of wet puppy food 😅 having a litter of 7 babies at 4 weeks old, plus ANOTHER litter of 4 puppies at 6 weeks old really depletes our inventory fast!

If anyone is able to donate cans of wet puppy food, we would greatly appreciate it!!

UPDATE 2.0: Nyx is experiencing a lot of anxiety and needs a secure room (she can knock down a play pen) - so this mom and babies needs a foster with extra space.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR FAMILY🚨
We have a mama and 7 tiny babies arriving on Saturday, and need to find a foster home together. The puppies are only around 4 weeks old, so they still need mom for comfort, nursing, and learning how to be little dogs. 🖤🐾

We know taking on a family can sound intimidating, but mama does most of the work right now — they mainly need a safe, quiet place to land while they continue to grow. Keeping them together is incredibly important for both mom and puppies during this stage.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, this is the kind of situation that truly changes lives. Please consider opening your home, or even sharing this post to help us find them a temporary landing spot! This little family needs your help!

We’re currently seeking experienced foster homes for a few dogs who would benefit from extra support outside of the shelter environment:

These dogs may need continued structure, behavior guidance, slower introductions, or decompression time while adjusting to a home setting. Foster support, supplies, and guidance will be provided by our team throughout the process!

WE ARE NOT CRYING- YOU ARE!!!!

Two years ago, a silly little crew of puppies arrived at Chicago Canine Rescue and quickly became known as the “Space Ball” litter. Tiny, goofy, playful, and full of personality from day one — they captured all of our hearts. 🐾✨

This weekend, those pups reunited for a family reunion, and honestly… it was something special. It melted our hearts to know these families stayed in touch- not only with us, but each other!

Rescue doesn’t end at adoption day- the bonds formed here last for years. Seeing these pups thriving two years later is a beautiful reminder that when a community comes together for animals, lives are changed forever. ❤️

To the families who stay connected, share updates, show up for reunions, and continue to be part of the CCR family long after adoption day: thank you. You are what makes this community so extraordinary.

Once a CCR pup, always a CCR pup. 🚀🐶
