🕊️ Remembering Nova Henry & Baby Ava 🕊️
On January 24, 2009, 24-year-old Nova Henry and her 10-month-old daughter, Ava, were tragically murdered in their Chicago home. Their deaths devastated their loved ones and serve as a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers that can arise from obsession, coercive control, and violence connected to intimate relationships.
Nova was more than a headline. She was a devoted mother, a daughter, a friend, and someone with dreams for her future. Baby Ava was an innocent child whose life had only just begun.
Their story reminds us that domestic violence isn’t always limited to physical abuse. It can include controlling behavior, stalking, intimidation, manipulation, threats, and an inability to accept rejection. These warning signs should never be ignored.
As we remember Nova and Ava today, let’s also remember the countless victims whose stories often go unheard. Education, awareness, and community support can save lives.
💜 If you know someone who may be experiencing abuse, listen without judgment, believe them, and encourage them to seek help when it is safe to do so.
Today, we honor Nova Henry and baby Ava by speaking their names and continuing the fight to end domestic violence.
🕊️ Rest in peace, Nova Henry.
🕊️ Rest in peace, sweet Ava.
