I hope everyone is having a warm and safe MLK Jr. Day!

Hopefully you're able to take this time to relax and play with those close to you, or forming new bonds with new peeps.

Being real, our Clubhouse has so many dope individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, and thanks to MLK's work being supported by many other civil rights activists, allies, and the day to day people who wanted less barriers and more building, we have what we have today.

With that being said, we'll be creating, doing homework, and competing in videogames again tomorrow!

Program is closed today in remembrance of Dr. King Jr.

Good morning everybody!

Our page has been a bit quiet, but our Clubhouse definitely has not!

This year our Program's engines are roaring and moving fast full STEAM ahead with new and fun approaches to improve our most recent project focus to improve driver safety, and we'll be submitting it for our Engineer for the Week sprints through the year!

Currently many of our are getting ready to get drivers permits and licenses so it makes sense to pick a project that can make the road safer for them and their peers.

Not only are we building our prototype vehicle, but we'll be building the roads as well.

In the US we celebrate Martin Luther King Day.

This is a holiday to honor the mission of MLK; for the U.S. to eliminate all racial systemic barriers in place to limit growth in finance, education, and bridging understanding and relationships with other races/ethnicities.

Every day we grow closer for his dream to be a reality - with his efforts and the support of those who marched and boycotted alongside him so that future leaders for Blacks and other races/ethnicities to prosper.

Due to this work and sacrifice many of us have the right to deliver top tier STEM programming to youth of all colors and nations; and to create projects to improve life for our neighborhoods, cities, states, and of course countries.

Happy Martin Luther King Day! - Whether you are working or on vacation, I hope you have time to reflect on how we are all able to talk, connect, and build in your communities! 😀

Our Howard Area Clubhouse Stream team was able to pull off a successful Livestream for the Howard Area Clubhouse Fall 2022 Smash Tournament!

With their skills and coordination they were able to live stream their tournament, and they look forward to taking their skill they developed during this After School Matters Apprenticeship cycle, over to the Chicago Cultural Center for Pocket Con 2022 for the Brawlhalla tournament!

Also be ready to play our Fighting Game "Food Fight ultra 2"! This was submitted to Meta's Engineer for the Week competition recently.

It has been a long 2 Years, of no in person Field Trips, for our program, and it was a phenomenal experience to share an experience out of our traditional Clubhouse workspace, and observe the tighter bonds of these youth in transit to a movie about moving forward after great loss, and unexpected changes.

I'm glad that our youth of diverse backgrounds got to see that on the big screen.

Last Wednesday was definitely a boost in confidence and morale!

Thank you so much After School Matters for making it possible for our Convention Connection 101 Apprenticeship, as well as MANY OTHERS to be in attendance of Marvel Studios Black Panther Wakanda Forever .
