The Chicago Bach Ensemble

The Chicago Bach Ensemble Since 2012, The Chicago Bach Ensemble has presented historically accurate performances of the sacred music of J.S. Bach. See us at chicagobachensemble.org J.S.

Since its inaugural concert in January 2012, the Chicago Bach Ensemble has presented to the Chicago audience six cycles of J.S. Bach’s cantatas. In September 2013, CBE became the recipient of a Three-Year Grant by The Mac Arthur Fund for Arts and Culture at The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. Under the direction of the reknowned virtuouso harpischordist Jory Vinikour the CBE performs through inf

ormed historical practice with the use of period instruments playing in baroque tuning. The size of the choir (2 singers per part) also reflects CBE's mission to present historically accurate performances. We are happy to invite you to share the amazing music of J-S Bach in Chicago area churches and hear his music as close to an original Bach performance as we can imagine it. Welcome! Baroque music is a style of Western classical music popular between 1600-1750. Bach’s music presents the high point of German Baroque Music.
