As we close the chapter on Lady Macbeth, I find myself reflecting on what an incredible journey this production has been.
Lady Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most iconic women, complex, ambitious, powerful, and deeply human. Bringing her story to the stage felt both daunting and exciting, and watching this world come to life exceeded anything I could have imagined.
Premo, you were an extraordinary Lady Macbeth. You captured her strength, determination, and vulnerability with such depth and intention. Every small detail, every choice, every moment on stage helped bring her essence to life.
To my witches—what an unexpected gift this process was. This role challenged me as a director and pushed me to explore new creative territory. Watching the three of you develop this shared connection and move almost as a single entity was beautiful. The trust, commitment, and artistry you brought into the studio created something truly special. I don’t know that I’ve ever witnessed that level of trust among dancers in quite the same way.
Von, you were an incredible partner throughout this process. You approached every challenge, adjustment, and new idea with openness and dedication. Your strength on stage helped elevate every scene and every dancer around you.
And to the entire cast, you were vibrant, fearless, and stunning. Each of you brought something unique to this production, and together you created a world that felt alive. There is nothing quite like sitting in the audience and watching months of rehearsals, conversations, discoveries, and hard work finally unfold on stage.
