Giving Tuesday always brings with it choices about where you put any charitable dollars you have available to share. This year presents difficult choices as there are so many needs, especially given government cuts.

Uganda has, like many countries, felt the impact of USAID cuts and some of the families at Dusek Child Care Centre have been impacted by these cuts. While we can't fill all the needs, we know that children at DCCC are receiving a top notch education and are fed a meal at school.

We have been working to make the school accessible to even more students. When our multi-story building is completed, more students will be able to board at school and have access to the quality education. Educating Africa's Children also continues to assist a few students with professional schooling.

Your donation can help us achieve our ongoing goals. As always, your donations go entirely to the school or student books and tuition. You may donate on this page or at https://www.educatingafricaschildren.org/donate.

I have attached some recent drone photos of the ongoing construction at the school.

So many exciting things keep happening at Dusek Child Care Centre and this update is a bit overdue.

The school year started on February 3 and we now have 1302 (!!!) children enrolled at DCCC. To put that in perspective, 5,820 people live in the Village of Ibanda where the school is located. That means that more than 20% of the village is enrolled at Dusek Child Care Center. The school has an enormous impact on the entire village and your support has meant so much to the entire community. (Because we have so many students, we have even sent money for an enormous new cooking pot for the millet porridge that all children receive each day at school.)

The building continues for the multi-purpose building that will allow some children to board at the school (extending the reach of DCCC beyond the village of Ibanda) and will have room for a library and computer center.

The students continue to receive a wonderful education and DCCC was mentioned in an article this year as one of the best performing schools in the Kasese District of Uganda.

We couldn't do all this without you. Once again, Tom Dusek will be participating in the Soldier Field 10k (at age 83!) on Memorial Day Weekend and he is raising money for Educating Africa's Children. If you would like to support his fundraising, you can donate through his fundraiser on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/donate/1737488000455362/9903858956347759/

If you prefer to donate in another way, we have several options. Donations can be made at:

If you prefer to send a check, please reach out to us by email. We also now have a brokerage account. If giving a stock donation is something you would like to do, please reach out by email and we will provide the details necessary to transfer stock to Educating Africa's Children.

We couldn't do this without your support and we truly appreciate every dollar donated. Every dollar is stretched as far as it will go and your donations make an enormous difference in the lives of many people.

Best regards,
Robin Dusek

The building walls are going up. This is going to be such an important addition for the school!

So far, funds have purchased 35,000 bricks, 12 trips of sand, 117 bags of cement, 96 iron bars, 4 rolls of binding wire, 10 pairs of strips, and labor.

The next step is to finish the few walls left to reach the level of the others and cast the concrete columns

Construction continues at the school. Great to see the hard work!

Slowly but surely, we make progress on the new building. Donations have made this possible so far.
