IAHSE - Illinois Association of Hispanic State Employees

IAHSE - Illinois Association of Hispanic State Employees Since 1987 IAHSE has been instrumental in addressing issues affecting Latinos in state employment and community services.

Since 1987, IAHSE has been instrumental in addressing issues affecting
Latinos in employment and community services. As an advocate, it is
IAHSE’s intent to remain a viable and effective force impacting the
employment and educational policies which may infringe on the aspirations
of our constituency. Because IAHSE is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and is

the FIRST
Hispanic state employees association advocating for Hispanic state
employees’ rights, we would like to encourage all Hispanic state employees
to become members of this organization. We recognize and celebrate the diversity of the Latino culture, but realize
there is strength in numbers when it comes to advocacy.

The IAHSE Board kicked off the new year with meaningful community engagement! On January 6, 2026, the Vice President of the Board visited DHS Elgin Mental Health Center to share information about the work and impact of IAHSE and to connect with state employees.

Thank you to Dr. Evans and Dr. G Andino for hosting IAHSE, and to the state employees who attended the lunch session. We are especially grateful to those who joined as new members—we look forward to building together.

The IAHSE Board of Directors held its annual retreat today to plan and coordinate how we can continue to effectively serve and advocate for our members. It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on our progress in 2025 and set priorities as we move into 2026.

Thank you to for hosting us and for their warm hospitality. We also extend our appreciation to State Senator for welcoming the board to the 20th District and engaging in a thoughtful and productive conversation about our ongoing efforts.
