Meet Basma Kleemeier!

Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Basma’s journey has taken her from Lebanon to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and now
to Chicago, bringing more than 25 years of international experience along the way.

A trained nurse midwife, mother of three daughters, avid hiker, and tennis player, Basma joined IWA to meet new people, connect with our international community, and continue learning from different perspectives.

We’re so happy to have you as part of IWA, Basma!

Our IWA community recently joined professional forager Dave Odd for a guided walk through Lincoln Park, where we learned about the many edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms growing around us.

It was a wonderful reminder that some of the best experiences are the ones that help us see our own city differently.
