Junior League of Chicago

Junior League of Chicago Our 1,500 members donate 200,000 volunteer hours each year to build better, healthier communities in the Chicagoland area.

The Junior League of Chicago is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. The Junior League of Chicago kicked off the start to summer with “Around the Corner” meetups across Chicago and the suburbs. 💙

Members came together to connect with women in their own communities through relaxed, intimate gatherings filled with conversation, laughter, and new connections. Whether over coffee, walks, or local meetups, this series was all about making meaningful friendships feel a little closer to home.

Thank you to everyone who hosted and attended - we loved seeing members build connections across the city we serve! ✨

Stories ready to be shared 📚💙

JLC partnered with Chicago Lights to refresh the library and host a book giveaway for their K–12 tutoring program. Members organized, sorted, and distributed books so students head into summer with stories they’re excited to read.

We also closed out the tutoring season with a special performance from our Mad Hatters.

Members, we’re now launching a middle grade fiction book drive to help grow the collection. Purchase a title from the wishlist using the link in our bio and help fill the shelves with stories that inspire.

As literacy remains a signature issue of the Junior League of Chicago, opportunities like this reflect our commitment to expanding access to books and fostering a love of reading across our community.

We were thrilled to open our doors on Sunday for the Junior League of Chicago’s first Open House - we brought together fellow nonprofits to connect, learn, and explore the history of our headquarters. For over 110 years, JLC has been part of Chicago’s story, and we’re proud to continue sharing that legacy with our community.

At the Junior League of Chicago’s Day at the Capitol, our members showed up, spoke out, and advocated for the issues that matter most to our communities.

From engaging directly with legislators to amplifying the voices of those we serve, this day was a powerful reminder that advocacy is action.

This year, three bills supported by the Junior League of Chicago passed out of their chamber of origin and will hopefully be signed into law!

Together, we’re turning passion into progress.
