Chicago Austin Youth Travel Adventures was founded August 26, 2015 by Crystal Dyer, a single mom that raised her three sons in the Chicago Austin community and they became productive members of our world. Unfortunately on March 6, 2012, my grandson Devin Dyer, died from gunshots, while attending a neighborhood party 5 days after his 18th birthday,

Our dream is to reduce senseless violence in the

Chicago Austin Community by providing resources and referral options for at risk youth. Collaboration with community organizations and changing the seemingly "Impossible Dreams to Possible" for Austin Youth 14-24. Opening the world of possibilities and help to reduce violent crimes.

Byron Allen officially steps into the former CBS late-night time slot once held by Stephen Colbert with Comics Unleashed, bringing a very different energy to television audiences across America.

For years, late-night TV was driven by political commentary and the power of one dominant host shaping the national conversation. Now the industry is shifting toward lighter entertainment, ensemble comedy, and formats built for a changing audience.

Byron Allen continues to make major moves in media ownership and entertainment while expanding Black representation behind the business of television.

One chapter closes. Another begins.

When 14-year-old Xavier Jones lost his transportation to his 8th grade graduation ceremony, he had a choice. Skip the milestone moment with his Yeatman Middle School classmates, or find another way. Xavier chose determination. He laced up his shoes and walked 6.5 miles from his north St. Louis neighborhood to Harris-Stowe State University, bringing his brother and a friend along for the two-hour journey.

Xavier refused to let a transportation problem steal his moment. While other families arrived by car, he arrived on foot, tired but present for one of the most important days of his young academic life. His commitment to showing up, no matter the obstacle, was about to change everything. Sometimes the universe rewards those who refuse to give up.

When the university president learned about Xavier's incredible walk during the ceremony, he was moved to act immediately. Right there, he awarded Xavier a full scholarship and arranged transportation support for his future. What started as a potential missed graduation became a life-changing moment of recognition. Xavier's story spread across social media, with thousands of people inspired by his grit and celebrating how his determination opened doors he never expected. Effort that refuses to quit still gets noticed by the right people.

Last week, CAYTA was proud to be part of the 37th Ward Alderwoman Emma Mitts and Black Men United Mother’s Day Extravaganza. We had an amazing time connecting with the community, celebrating mothers, and sharing in such a wonderful event.

Alderwoman Mitts also officially announced that she will be running for re-election.
