Join Us. for a special evening hosted by Girls Like Me Project at the South Shore Cultural Center on Friday, October 11, 2024, starting at 4:00 PM.
The evening's theme, "Voices Rising: Black Women Leaders Reclaiming Philanthropy for Our Girls," promises an enriching exchange of ideas and insights into the transformative power of philanthropy directed toward empowering Black girls.
At this gathering, we will immerse ourselves into discussions about how philanthropy can serve as a powerful tool for change and development within our communities. It’s a celebration and acknowledgment of the unique contributions that Black women make to the philanthropic world, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but are also influential in shaping the future for our girls.
This Speakers Salon is more than just an event; it's a recognition that Black women need spaces where they can be authentically themselves, where respect and perspective reach their highest levels, and where connections are formed from a deep understanding of each other’s life stories and experiences. It is a chance to hold a sacred space to speak the truth about the ways financial support is contingent on our silence and assimilation.
Whether as mothers, daughters, aunts, grandmothers, friends, or sisters, our roles are diverse, but our goal is unified: to empower and uplift.
Light refreshments will be served as we mingle and share in the spirit of sisterhood and collective purpose. Your esteemed presence will greatly enrich our gathering.
Please R.S.V.P. by October 7th to confirm your attendance. We look forward to welcoming you and engaging in meaningful discussions that pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for our girls.
We encourage you to forward to those whose voice you believe belongs in the room.✨
