What can art teach us about building power, telling our stories, and organizing for change? Join us for the inaugural workshop of The Art of Organizing: A Creative Approach to Organizing and Advocacy facilitated by art therapist and creative organizer Jannah Sellars!

Through hands-on art-making, relational engagement, and concept building instruction, participants will explore the foundations of community organizing—and the vital role that art and creativity can play in movements for change. This workshop is free, all materials will be provided, and no prior art experience is needed. Registration link in our bio!

Uprising Theater will be hosting an exhibition in tandem with Colette Ghunim’s documentary, Traces of Home, featuring works related to themes of home, ancestry, diaspora, and tracing of family history and self.

This fall, the Pleasure Power Portal opens across three distinct experiences, inviting us to explore what pleasure looks, sounds, feels, and moves like in community.

The Prelude | The Pleasure Parade�We begin with a procession, a second line for the Westside, and a communal table. A celebration of movement, sound, food, and togetherness.

The Aperitif�Then, we slow down. An intimate, tactile experience designed around connection, sensory play, movement, and the art of tending to our relationships.

The Pre Fixe Performance�Finally, we enter the archive. Disco, dance, memory, and collected stories come together in an immersive dance theater performance exploring the many ways Black people create, experience, and share pleasure.

A new exhibition opens today at the Chicago Cultural Center 💫 Join for the "To Be Remembered: Woven Matters of the Heart" opening from 4-7 p.m.

This exhibition embraces the reflective ways in which five contemporary textile artists illuminate their rich interior worlds through unique fiber practices.

Artists ebere agwuncha, Nnaemeka Ekwelum, Hale Ekinci, Josué Esaú, and Thương Hoài Trần each visually intertwine the past, present and future, offering new ways to weave our own personal mythologies.

Suspend reality at the door and join us for an unforgettable evening. "To Be Remembered" is now open in the Chicago Galleries through February 28, 2027.
