Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce

Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce www.ravenswoodchicago.org Originally founded to fight problems of crime and blight, RCC was one of the first urban conservation commissions in Chicago.

While just established in 2015, the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce is tied to a 57-year history of fostering a vibrant, locally-focused economy in Ravenswood. Built on the foundation of the Ravenswood Community Council’s work within the area’s commercial corridors, the GRCC is guided by the belief that creativity, sustainable living and diverse industry position Ravenswood as a destination

neighborhood. Today our services have changed and expanded to meet the needs of our ever-evolving neighborhood, including becoming the designated Chamber of Commerce for the Ravenswood community in 2015. The proud presenter events such as Ravenswood ArtWalk, Taste of Ravenswood, and Ravenswood On Tap, our organization is always looking for exciting and unique ways to engage our local businesses, residents and visitors.

What started with a handful of artists in three Ravenswood buildings has grown into one of the neighborhood’s signature events. 🎨

Ravenswood ArtWalk returns September 12–13—and its story is deeply connected to the neighborhood it celebrates.

Back in 2001, local artist and arts advocate Judith Roth teamed up with the Jane Addams Resource Corporation to add an arts component to JARC’s annual “Tour of Industry.” The idea was simple: open the doors to a few of Ravenswood’s creative spaces and introduce people to the artists working inside.

By 2005, what had become the “Tour of Arts and Industry” stretched across more than 53 venues and featured hundreds of artists.

That rapid growth revealed something special about Ravenswood: tucked into the nooks and crannies of its historic Industrial Corridor was an extraordinary creative community.

Inside former factories, warehouses and other unremarkable utilitarian spaces, artists, artisans, designers and makers had built studios, workshops and galleries—and were creating incredible work behind those doors.

Since 2015, the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce has helped steward and grow ArtWalk, expanding the festival while keeping that original spirit at its heart.

Today, Ravenswood ArtWalk is still an invitation to open those doors. Come step inside spaces you rarely get to see (like the one shown) . Meet the people who create there. Explore the neighborhood. And discover just how much art is being made right here in Ravenswood.

You guys!! We had an amazing time hosting our first ever neighborhood bike tour with our friends at North Branch Works 🚲

A whole bunch of wonderful humans joined us for a morning of local exploration and community building. Thanks to these businesses for welcoming our tour group throughout the bike ride:

🔹 Dolce Arte (3057 N Rockwell) Dolce Arte
🔹 Brothers Restaurant (3000 W Belmont) Brothers Restaurant
🔹 Chicago Glass Collective (1770 W Berteau) Chicago Glass Collective
🔹 Chicago Clay Co-Op (4636 N Ravenswood) Chicago Clay Co-Op

Another big thank you to those who chose to donate when registering for the bike tour. With your help, we raised almost $200 for the Riley O’Neil Memorial Fund. The GRCC is proud to match this amount for a total donation of nearly $400.
