Chicago's Leading Edge Chapter, WAI Chicago’s Leading Edge Chapter was founded in October, 2009 and serves the Chicagoland area. We are a Chapter of Women in Aviation International.

Women in Aviation Chicago’s Leading Edge Chapter was founded in October, 2009 and serves the Chicagoland area. We are a Chapter of Women in Aviation International, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing networking, education, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women (and men) who are striving for challenging and fulfilling careers in the aviation and aerospace industrie

s. WAI is dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests. Our 7,000+ membership includes astronauts, airline pilots, corporate pilots, maintenance technicians, air traffic controllers, business owners, educators, journalists, flight attendants, high school and university students, air show performers, airport managers, enthusiasts and many others. We provide year-round resources to assist women in aviation and to encourage young women to consider aviation as a career. WAI also offers educational outreach programs to educators, aviation industry members and young people nationally and internationally. In addition, WAI promotes public understanding of the accomplishments and contributions of women in aviation.

We’re excited to celebrate some incredible accomplishments from our CLE members this month!

• Abigail completed her first solo flight!
• Bailey passed her CFII Checkride
• Emily passed her Instrument Checkride
• Chloe earned her Commercial Multi-Engine Rating
• Katie earned her Commercial Multi-Engine Rating

These achievements represent countless hours of studying, flying, determination, and perseverance. We are so proud of each of you and can’t wait to see where your aviation journeys take you next! 💙✈️
