Stress: A familiar, persistent companion to all evening and weekend MBA students.

Yoga: A time-honored exercise of healing, body strengthening, and tool for fighting stress.

You just survived midterms and with finals around the corner, now is the time to treat your body and mind to an hour of serene healing. Graduate Women in Business and the Student Advisory Council present Yoga at Gleacher, an event open to all students free of charge.

Bring your mat and join us on Saturday June 1st, for an hour of yoga. Alison Van Vark, a certified instructor and current Booth student, will lead yoga exercises on mats, and demonstrate office yoga moves you can take away to loosen up at work. Most casual attire will be perfectly suitable for the event, though fitness attire is certainly acceptable and encouraged.

Due to space limitations, spots may be limited. The event will be first-come, first-serve. Register here !

When I want to explain why empowering girls and women is critical to fighting poverty, I often tell a person's story. It's easier to relate to a personal story than to global data telling us that the majority of the billion people who live on less than $2 per day are women and girls.

For many of us, Presidents Day means an extra day off work and the chance to hit up the holiday sales. But, as we recall from our school days, it's actually more than that.
