It is with a heavy heart that we share the tragic passing of Brother Christopher Munds of Carpenters Local 243, who lost his life in a jobsite accident earlier this summer. Brother Munds was a 5-year member of our Union who was working on a bridge project in Lawrenceville, IL when the tragic accident occurred. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Construction work continues on the expression project for Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City, MO. Our Carpenters working for signatory contractors JD Bishop and Modern Interiors are taking care of the concrete floors, drywall, metal frame and acoustical ceilings on this Sircal Contracting, Inc. job. Currently, Union Carpenters are building out the school's new performing arts center, which is set to open in January.

Look at what the wind blew in! Panther Grove Wind Facility is an 896 MW wind-powered electric generation facility in Woodford and Livingston counties in central Illinois! This wind farm will provide more than 350 jobs and enough energy to power more than 150,000 American homes! Thanks to the work of our members, approximately 800,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide will be eliminated annually! Just another way Union Carpenters and Millwrights are building a healthier and brighter future for generations to come!

Last weekend we partnered with UBC member Tony Musolino and the Fast Track Racing team for the Menards ARCA Series Race at the Iowa Speedway. Tony's Iowa Speedway debut resulted at a respectable 18th place finish! It's always a joy seeing the MACRC shield zooming by at 150mph! Best looking logo on the track!
