We are heartbroken to share the passing of staff member Joshua, a beloved member of our Club family.

Josh grew up in our Club, spending more than 12 years as a member before recently returning as a staff member at our Bartlett J. McCartin Club. In 2019, he was named Youth of the Year, an honor that reflected his leadership, compassion, and ability to uplift everyone around him.

He carried with him a deep love for the Club, a passion for spoken word, and a remarkable ability to connect with others. Alongside his sister, Mikaelah, our 2018 Youth of the Year, Joshua represented the very best of what our Club stands for.

His impact on our youth, staff, and families is immeasurable. Josh will be deeply missed. We ask that you keep Josh's family, friends, and all who knew and loved him in your thoughts 💙

Join us for Youth of the Year Week as we spotlight our five outstanding finalists from Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. Each of these young people embodies what it means to be a Club kid. Meet Karina! Karina has spent the last three years at the Bartlett J. McCartin Boys & Girls Club making an impact, whether on the basketball court, in Keystone Club, or mentoring younger members. She plans to major in speech therapy so she can continue supporting kids in the future, just like she does now. A heart for service and a future full of purpose. Ending Youth of the Year Week strong.
