Strangeloop Theatre

Strangeloop Theatre Strangeloop Theatre pursues the undiscovered. Our pursuit is guided by the following...
1.

New Work – Producing new or newly adapted work, we ensure that any Strangeloop show will be a unique experience for our audience and ourselves.
2. Stories of Scope – Focusing on work that is large in scope - whether sweeping tales or stories dealing with large ideas - we present plays of consequence.
3. Collaboration – Giving a strong role to each element of production, we emphasize processes that

allow more voices to emerge.
4. Immediacy – Using intimate spaces and excellent actors, we bring our audience a visceral understanding of story.

This is Tamale. She is holding a $500 donation check to the Center on Halsted from Strangeloop. Donations were collected from our Mitera donation drive, combined with funds from Strangeloop and donated during Pride Month.

Tamale Sepp is the Center's Director of Community and Cultural Programs which co-ordinates programming for Bisexual, Children's Space and Family, Trangender and Women's Programs, as well as Recreation and Wellness, GED Programming and an LGBTQ Artists Gallery. The Center also has Anti-violence programming, HIV/AIDS and STD services, Senior services and Youth programming. In fact, over the next five years, the Center hopes to address LGBTQ youth homelessness by providing scattered-site housing throughout Chicago.

Thank you to Pat Tinsley for setting up the drive and to all who donated to support the important work of this organization. If you were not able to earlier, consider making a donation today: https://community.centeronhalsted.org/DonateNow

A handful of tickets remain for tonight's show. It's your last chance to see Mitera and to delve into its world of modern love wrapped in old world tradition.

Want to know how to have international fun without leaving Chicago? Come to Mitera. There are a few wait list spots for tonight and you can still snag tickets for closing tomorrow. But don't take our word for it, WBEZ thinks we're "really a worthwhile thing to catch."

’Requiem for Peace’ is a piece written in 13 languages, from many war torn countries. It will be performed by the North Shore Choral Society on Saturday.

Though a little (or much, depending on your view of time) belated, we want to thank the amazing Peter Robards for his support of Strangeloop's 8th Season!

We couldn't do what we do without our fantastic donors. For his generous gift, Peter received a 5-Minute Play about himself written by company member Keith Gatchel.

P.S. - There's a clown in it.
