Truth Telling Project

Truth Telling Project TTP uplifts voices from impacted communities to address structural racism and police violence.

In light of the murder of 18 year old Michael Brown Jr in August 2014, the surrounding protests, and the anger it generated throughout the community, St. Louis has become the epicenter for addressing structural change, direct violence, police relationships and racism in our community and throughout the United States. Our vision for the future is a just, equitable, and sustainable society free of s

tate-sanctioned violence and systemic racism. To move us toward our vision, we implement and sustain grassroots, community-centered truth-telling processes to amplify our voices about police violence and its roots. We foster coalition-building and solidarity with the most vulnerable communities. We educate ourselves and our allies about systemic violence throughout the United States. We support reparative and restorative justice as the primary pathways for structural transformation.

THIS THURSDAY: Join us on February 12 at 7:30pm Eastern Time for a deep dive into the scriptural understandings behind the slogan “Jesus was an immigrant.” Hebrew Testament scholar and Egyptian Presbyterian pastor Rev. Dr. Safwat Marzouk will provide a teaching on the time that the Holy Family spent as migrants and refugees in Egypt, and the devotional traditions surrounding their sojourn. Dr. Marzouk will be joined in dialogue by Rev. Dr. Stephany Rose, a pastor and activist who has been deeply engaged in truth telling around immigration and race. We are pleased to have the Society of Biblical Literature and the Committee on Underrepresented Racial and Ethnic Minorities in the Profession (CUREMP) join us as co-sponsors for this important conversation. People of all faiths and perspectives are invited to join. Advance registration is required. Visit https://clbsj.org/events/2026/02/12/epiphany-in-exile/ for more information and to register.

Interviewed on Al Jazeera today about ICE killing Alex Pretti and Renee Good, and made it a point to speak the names of all 9 people ICE has killed so far in 2026. Including Keith Porter, Parady La, Heber Sanchaz DomĂnguez, Victor Manuel Diaz, Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz, Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, and Geraldo Lunas Campos.

We need unity of humanity against fascism and autocracy.

Will share the interview when it goes live.

ICE raids are terrorizing Black and Brown neighborhoods right now. It's important to sound the alarm on what's happening in our communities. If you ever encounter ICE, here are some ways to document them safely.

Recording ICE is legal, but it's not without risk. If you feel unsafe, don't record. Your safety matters more than footage.

This system has targeted Black communities for generations—from slave catchers to police raids to ICE. When we document, we expose the terror. When we share information, we protect each other.
Stay alert. Stay safe. Sound the alarm.

Black History Month isn’t about nostalgia—it’s about remembering and honoring the shared history, culture and identity that requires a collective pursuits of justice .
This month is about celebrating our triumphs and exemplars.
Our history teaches and is a reminder that reparations is owed by America to Black folk; if we want for heal the past.
From Tulsa, to East St Louis, Elaine AK and the Freedman’s Bank; through racial terror and fraud Black people were preyed upon by their white neighbors and the US govt. from slavery to date our history is a reminder that we have to do for ourselves and each other.
Today’s question isn’t “can we build wealth?”—we already did that.
The question is: what does collective liberation look like?
From cooperative ownership to community land trusts, we’re building
economic and community power AGAIN. Not from scratch—from sabotage.
Reparations aren’t charity. They’re what’s owed.

Queen Latifah has long been committed to giving back to her community, and in 2022, she took a significant step in reshaping the future of her hometown, Newark, New Jersey. Through her company, BlueSugar Corporation, Queen Latifah invested $14 million into a mixed-use housing development designed to provide affordable housing and support long-term community growth. Partnering with GonSosa Development, the project includes a combination of income-based affordable units and market-rate housing, aimed at creating a more inclusive and sustainable neighborhood for local residents. First announced in 2019, the development broke ground in 2022, marking the beginning of a transformative effort that goes beyond just providing homes. The project also includes community spaces, reflecting Queen Latifah’s dedication to creating environments that foster connection and opportunity. This development not only strengthens Newark’s housing landscape but also stands as a testament to her belief in reinvesting in the places and people that shaped her. Through initiatives like this, Queen Latifah is proving that change is not just about words but about tangible action to create lasting impact.

No work, no shopping, no dining out.

Hundreds of Minnesota businesses are expected to close and many people vowed to pause everyday activities on Friday as part of a general strike against the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown. https://nyti.ms/3NMYxP7

The MAGA regime is unleashing modern day slave patrols on our communities, terrorizing Black, brown, and immigrant communities from Minneapolis and Memphis to LA and DC to Chicago and Charlotte. Now they are threatening to escalate attacks on New York City.

That’s why on Friday, January 23rd at 11am we’re walking out of school to free NYC and free America from slave patrols 2.0, from Trump-Crow, and from white supremacy. Only by making our country fully reckon with and repair the harm of white supremacy from its foundation will we create a truly free and equal future.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - a radical truth teller, reparationist, leader surrounded, supported and lifted up by beloved community, whose courage conviction, and compassion continue to guide us toward justice and equality. Dr. King’s words remind us that silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality; rather its complicity. Our children and their children will ask what we did to stop fascism. Which side are you on my friends

Let’s recap. Trump demands for months the people in the house turn over the loot. They refuse. He kidnaps the head of the household. He announces his plan to rob the household. He tells the people in the household that his robbery will benefit them. Trump tells the people in his own household—who he has already robbed—that his new robbery will benefit them too. Did I get that right?
