What a great workday in the Garden! 🪴 New neighbors and our regular volunteers joined us. We did lots of w**ding, rescuing the pollinator garden from the resurging mint and w**ds! We harvested greens, cabbage leaves, 🥬 cucumbers 🥒 and basil 🌿 to share with our neighbors. Noah from NeighborSpace stopped in and installed nets to catch our apples 🍎 falling from our bountiful apple trees 🌳. Our young garden friends even made some garden style “ice cream”.🍦 We hope to see you on August 29 for our next Rituals of Remembering event and at our Sunday, September 13 Garden workday.

There is always work to do in the Garden, but as our beloved founder Bertha Purnell always said “many hands make light work”. Join us this Sunday, August 16th from 9 AM to 11 AM for a Garden workday! Today we came together on a work day with community members and neighbors to care for their garden and each other. 🍎🌱
We cleaned up fallen apples, pulled w**ds, and worked in the garden beds to help the vegetables thrive.

The highlight of the day was watching adults and children work side by side, proving that community grows stronger when we work together.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and smiles. Every helping hand made a difference, and together we’re growing not only fresh food but also friendships, pride, and hope. 💚

This Sunday July 12th from 9 to 11 AM, join us at a Garden for a workday. We need your help, as there are lots of w**ds in the Garden! Bring water. Snacks and garden gloves will be provided. Children are always welcome in the Garden.

Late Spring is a big season for celebration — Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduations and Proms, the beginning of Summer (June 21 this year)... it also happens to be the two year anniversary of Rituals of Remembering in Mercy Garden! Today with the plants popping, and the sun shining even Nature felt celebratory. Thanks for joining us in the Garden today, for Rituals of Remembering for ‘Celebrate Them and Celebrate Us’. We celebrated together those life moments, milestones, and accomplishments that we wish we could have shared with someone no longer here. As always, life is better in the Garden with our friends. 🪴🧡

Mark your calendars for our Wear Orange Event in the Garden on Saturday, June 6th from 12 to 2 PM!🪴🧡

National Wear Orange weekend is June 5-7 to remember those lost to and affected by gun violence. Our Garden provides a safe space for all affected by gun violence.

Children are always welcome in the Garden. At this Wear Orange event, we will be in community by planting a pollinator garden, painting rocks and sharing in lunch that will be provided.
