Trikone Chicago

Trikone Chicago We strive to provide a supportive, empowering, and affirming community for q***r/trans South Asians in the Chicagoland area.

Trikone Chicago is a Chicago-registered not-for-profit group that was formed in 2008 and is entirely volunteer-run. Our goal is to create safer spaces for q***r and trans South Asians, their family, friends, allies, and community to engage in social, cultural, political, and educational activities and opportunities. To that end, we host bimonthly dance parties, monthly potlucks, film screenings, a

nd discussion groups. The umbrella term "q***r" is inclusive of (but not limited to) those individuals who identify as le***an, gay, bisexual, asexual, transgender, q***r, hijra, kothi, meti, MSM, WSW, and questioning. "South Asian" is an identity that covers ethnic and cultural heritage that can be traced back to the areas currently known as Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and the Maldives.

In a time of rampant and normalized anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, support for q***r South Asian art and artists becomes even more vital, and what more enjoyable way to do it than to come out with your squad and watch a bunch of great films! See you at the movies! (đź”— in đź“–)

Trikone Chicago is marching in Chicago Pride in 2025!

People have reached out over the years to express that our presence at the parade helped them realize q***r Desi community existed in such numbers around them. At a time when our people feel more isolated than ever, our visibility as an organization has become even more vital.

Thank you for helping us raise over $10,000 for Trikone Chicago and the parade since 2019. Your generous support helps fund parade entry fees, vehicle and trailer rental for the float, gas, and water for the marchers. We hope you will chip in this year as well so we continue to make our presence felt as a vibrant space for q***r and trans South Asian Chicagolanders and more folks in need of community and support can find their way to us.

Special thank yous to for being our Pride Captain year after year!
