The Beverly Area Arts Alliance (“The Alliance”) coordinates art focused events and projects fostering collaboration between artists and the Beverly community. The Alliance seeks to identify opportunities and incubate ideas to advance Beverly as a hub of culture and creativity on Chicago’s Far South Side, and it does so by working with like-minded community leaders, organizations and artists that c

ome together to create a vibrant environment in which to live and do business. The Alliance’s annual cornerstone event is the Beverly Art Walk (the “Art Walk”, or “BAW”), held in September, features work by area artists displayed in local businesses and organizations throughout the neighborhood. It also includes live music, artist demonstrations, home studio tours and the creation of permanent public art. In addition to coordinating and executing the Art Walk, the Alliance works throughout the year to organize pop-up exhibitions in local businesses and vacant storefronts, facilitate educational opportunities for area artists, students, and community members, as well as, present a quarterly reading series called “The Frunchroom”. The Alliance was formed in 2014 by local artists and community activists, and has gained tremendous growth in a short time. We believe this is due in part to The Alliance events and outreach fulfilling the deep need of a community with a serious appreciation and esteem for the arts.

We're gearing for the 13th Annual Beverly Art Walk (Call for Art coming soon)! In the meantime, we are making plans for a fun new kind of venue to be added - mini galleries! Our goal is to introduce a wave of new mini galleries in all the different areas of Art Walk. Some of these will be small versions of high-end gallery spaces (like the beautiful one shown, built by ) while others may be more like little free libraries, where handmade art, 'zines, stickers and crafts can be swapped. What do you think? Would you like to see mini galleries around Beverly/Morgan Park? As an artist or artisan, would you like to exhibit your work in one? Would you like to volunteer to help build one? Or maybe you would like to sponsor one in front of your business? Let us know! Drop a message or send us an email at [email protected]
