Lately we have been reminded just how powerful community really is.

Every message, every share, and every donation toward our Atlanta trip is helping create an experience our young men will carry with them long after the bus ride home. Opportunities like this do more than show them new places. They help them see new possibilities for themselves.

We are grateful for everyone who has stepped in to support so far. Your belief in these young men is helping turn this vision into something real.

If you have been meaning to contribute or share the opportunity with someone who might want to help, there is still time. The link to support is in our bio, and every bit truly makes a difference.

Thank you for continuing to stand with Urban Male Network and the young men we serve.

Shout out and a big THANK YOU to Katie Breen for her $100 donation toward our Atlanta College and Leadership Trip for the young men of Urban Male Network.

Your support is helping cover meals, transportation, and the kind of exposure that can truly change how a young man sees his future. Every contribution moves us one step closer to making sure our boys get this opportunity.

We appreciate you believing in our young men and investing in their journey. ❤️

This Valentine’s Day fell on our Club U Saturday — and instead of talking our young men about they doing for others l, we gave our young men something even more important: space to breathe, reflect, and feel.

In a community too often labeled a “war zone,” our young men chose joy, brotherhood, and growth. We talked about self-love, about what it really means to be a man, and about how the world pressures them to rush into being providers, money-makers, and impressors before they’ve even had time to fully know themselves.

But real strength isn’t just in how much you can carry.
Real strength is in vulnerability.

It’s in being able to say:
“I’m still learning.”
“I need support.”
“I want peace.”
“I matter too.”

Self-love isn’t soft — it’s foundational.
Because a young man who learns to value himself doesn’t just become a better provider one day — he becomes a healthier friend, partner, father, and leader.

This weekend, They practiced giving themselves permission to grow, to feel, and to be whole.

And that’s the kind of love that lasts far beyond Valentine’s Day. 🌹

There are moments in a young man’s life when one opportunity can change the direction of everything. This is one of those moments for our boys.
In March, Urban Male Network is taking young men from Chicago to Atlanta for a college and leadership exposure trip. For many of them, this will be their first time leaving Illinois, their first time stepping onto a college campus, and their first time seeing environments that show them just how big their future can be.

We’ll be visiting HBCU campuses like Morehouse and Clark Atlanta, learning about civil rights history, exposing them to career pathways, and giving them the kind of experience that can change how a young man sees himself and his possibilities.

This isn’t about a trip.
It’s about exposure.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about helping them see that their future is bigger than their zip code.

It costs about $300 to fully sponsor one student, but truly any amount helps. Some people may cover a meal, some may sponsor a student, and some may simply share this post. All of it matters.

If you can’t donate, please consider sharing. You never know who in your network might want to help open a door for these young men.

Thank you for always supporting our youth and believing in what we do at Urban Male Network.

Urban Male Network is grateful for the DFSS – My Chi. My Future Safe Spaces Grant, which gave us the opportunity to hire teens and expose them to real-world skills like professionalism, event planning, communication, teamwork, and marketing.

Because of this support, we’re seeing the impact come full circle — students who once participated in the program are now in college studying marketing and even planning their own events.

This video is narrated by Tayveun Williams, who started with UMN as a youth participant and is now a full-time Youth Advisor, mentoring young people across multiple Chicago schools.

This is what investment in youth looks like.
This is legacy.
