For plaintiffs' attorneys who earn contingency fees, how you manage your fee can be just as important as how you earn it. Join the Women's Bar Association of Illinois and the Illinois State Bar Association for a one-hour virtual CLE to explore advanced tax strategies that can help protect your earnings and support long-term wealth building.

Most attorneys spend countless hours learning how to maximize recoveries for their clients, yet, they spend very little time learning how to protect their own fees from being eroded by taxes. For attorneys receiving significant contingency fees, tax planning is no longer just an accounting issue. It is a wealth-building issue.

Join attorney-turned-financial advisor, Bonnie Mangold, from Amicus Financial Partners and Marci Gordon from Comprehensive Settlement Solutions for an educational webinar about attorney fee deferral and other advanced tax planning concepts that most lawyers have never even heard of!

They’ll discuss some of the most underutilized tax planning strategies available to contingency-fee attorneys today. Attendees will learn the options available to them to transform a large, one-year tax event into a long-term wealth-building opportunity.

The Illinois State Bar Association and the Women's Bar Association of Illinois are proud to co-host a hybrid CLE, "Policy Forum on Paid Family Medical Leave," on Tuesday, September 8. Taking place at the ISBA offices both in-person and via Zoom, the CLE will explore how paid family and medical leave has emerged as one of the most significant workplace policy debates in the United States, with states adopting a wide range of approaches to funding, eligibility, benefits, and job protections. This interactive CLE program will bring together attorneys, policy experts, advocates, and stakeholders to examine the legal, economic, and practical considerations involved in designing an effective paid leave system. Through case studies and moderated discussion, panelists will explore the strengths and challenges of an existing Illinois legislative proposal to create a program that provides 18 weeks of paid family medical leave. The program will conclude with an audience-driven discussion of what a successful Illinois paid family and medical leave program should look like.

Program run time: 75 minutes followed by light networking reception (light appetizers provided)

Moderator:
Ashley Stead, Attorney at McGann Ketterman & Rioux

⛳️ What an AMAZING day! ⛳️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us—and to our incredible sponsors—for making the WBAI’s 30th Annual Golf Outing on Friday, August 14, at Glenview Park Golf Club such a tremendous success!

We couldn't have asked for better weather (and we're especially grateful the rain stayed away! ☀️), and it was a fantastic day of golf, networking, laughter, friendly competition, cocktails, dinner, and celebrating our amazing WBAI community.

From the 18-hole scramble and skills games to the raffle prizes and awards, there was plenty of fun throughout the day—including the hotly contested Best Dressed Award! 👗⛳️🏆

Most importantly, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who sponsored, golfed, attended the reception, donated prizes, volunteered, and helped make our 30th Annual Golf Outing one to remember.

Thank you for supporting the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and helping us continue our mission! We can't wait to do it all again next year! 💙⚖️
