Teamwork makes the dream work!! We had a great weekend in Omaha, NE collaborating and having fellowship with our Urban Plunge City teams including Dallas, Los Angeles, Sioux Falls and Kansas City! This training session was a blast and filled all of our buckets, that’s what Jesus does. When we invite the presence of the Holy Spirit in, the results are amazing! Until we meet again.

🍁 Fall Weekend Plunge with Our Lady of Tepeyac! 💛

We just finished up a beautiful fall weekend Plunge Serve with the amazing young ladies from Our Lady of Tepeyac High School in Little Village, Chicago!

These girls, along with their Dean of Students, Oblate James, arrived Friday night with open hearts and ready hands to serve. We kicked things off by breaking bread together, getting to know one another, and sharing in sweet fellowship.

✨ Saturday morning, we were up early for breakfast and a circle-up to center our eyes, minds, and hearts on Jesus and the mission ahead. We knew God’s plans for the day were good — and He did not disappoint!

Our first stop was Restoration Ministries, Inc. where the girls helped with the food pantry. They didn’t hesitate for a second — jumping right in and serving with joy from start to finish! From checking in over 300 clients to filling grocery carts, they worked hard and served with big smiles all morning long.

Next, we headed over to Filling the Gap Sycamore House, where the team cleaned and organized an apartment space to prepare it for a new resident (and made a new kitty friend 🐱 along the way!). After that, we dropped off donations at Restoration Ministries Thrift Store, and a few of the girls even found some treasures while we waited to head to our next stop.

We closed out the evening at The Tabitha House in South Holland, sharing dinner and conversation with the women in their recovery program. It was such a beautiful time of listening, encouragement, and hope. ❤️

Back at our lodging spot, we wrapped up the night (with a quick stop at Dave’s Hot Chicken 🍗) and spent Sunday morning in reflection and a heartfelt liturgy service before saying our goodbyes.

We loved every minute of having this incredible group with Urban Plunge this weekend. They showed up ready to serve, love, and shine the light of Jesus — and they absolutely did just that! 🌟

Come back soon, Tepeyac! You’re family now. 💕

Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us. He paid the debt for our sin in full. He was obedient to our Heavenly Father, even to the point of death. Are you willing to say Yes to what Jesus is calling you to do today?

Near the end of Christ's earthly ministry He shares number of parables to illustrate what carrying on the work will look like for His disciples.

As He concludes those stories with one more illustration, He gives this statement: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

If you have been around for awhile or heard our story at an event, you'll probably recognize this passage.

Regardless of faith or affiliation, we all carry on a responsibility to do good unto others, may you be encouraged in that work today.

Philippians 1:3-6
"I thank my God everytime I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"

The Kingdom is celebrating these kids from First United Methodist Church who decided to say YES to Jesus and get baptized this past weekend. Congratulations to Izzy, Shayla and Jeremiah on taking the next step in your walk with Jesus! There is no better step to take than towards our Lord and Savior! We are excited for you and celebrating with you!

Romans 6:4 "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glor of the Father, we too may live a new life"

📣 Thank You, St. Olaf Lutheran Church! 🙌🏼

This past week, we had the absolute joy of serving alongside the incredible team from St. Olaf Lutheran Church in partnership with Urban Plunge Chicago — and what a powerful week it was! From day one, they showed up with hearts full of love, ready to serve, learn, and shine the light of Jesus across our city. Here’s a glimpse into their unforgettable week:

✨ Monday

The team jumped right in at Hope Covenant Church, helping with clean-up projects to make the space more inviting for the surrounding community. Then it was off to The Bridge Teen Center, where they sorted clothes to support their thrift store — helping fund free programs for local teens. A sweet treat at the famous Plush Horse Ice Cream wrapped up their day!

🌱 Tuesday

They began their morning at Elim Christian Center with warehouse help, yardwork, and meaningful time with residents. From there, they headed to Filling The Gap’s Cypress House, where they met single mom Leah and her two children. The team did power washing, landscaping, and helped prepare for the upcoming 3rd Annual Golf Outing, which raises funds for the next transitional home — the Ash House. The day ended with a wonderful backyard BBQ and fellowship with Jen, Mike, and some of the residents.

🥫 Wednesday

The day started at Feed My Lambs food pantry in Posen, where they met our dear friend Ann and helped bag groceries, organize, and move in a donated freezer. After lunch, they headed to the Greater Chicago Food Depository to pack up beans and other goods for local food pantries. Dinner at Connie’s Pizza and passing out blessing bags — along with heartfelt prayers for our unhoused neighbors — ended their night with purpose.

🎨 Thursday

On their final serve day, the team brought fun, laughter, and creativity to the day camp at American Association of Single Parents in Dolton. They truly embraced their inner child as they played, crafted, and shared joy with the kids — a beautiful reflection of Jesus’ words: “Let the little children come to me…” 💛 The afternoon was spent exploring our amazing city before heading back home to Iowa today.

We are so grateful for this faithful team, their selfless hearts, and the way they poured love into every corner of Chicago they touched. God showed up for them and through them all week long. We pray they carry this experience back to their home, sharing all that God is doing — because when you serve others, you never leave the same.

Until next time, St. Olaf — thank you for lighting up our city! 💫

What a final day with our amazing friends from Iowa! 💛

We kicked off the day at The Bridge Teen Center, where the team sorted baby clothes, shoes, coats, and tackled a few special projects. But their impact didn’t stop there—they collected a van load of brand-new clothing donations from their church community! We were honored to deliver those donations to All God's People, and the gratitude from that ministry was overflowing. What a beautiful example of the Body of Christ working together! ✝️

Next, we made our way to Hope Covenant Church where the outdoor space needed some serious TLC. In just two hours, this team moved mountains—trimming, cleaning, and refreshing the entire property. They showed up where there weren’t enough hands and made a HUGE difference.

After serving in the heat, we headed home for a quick refresh (aka showers! 🚿), grabbed some classic Aurelio’s pizza 🍕, and ventured into the city one last time. With blessing bags in hand and hearts wide open, the team walked the streets praying with anyone who said yes. 🙏🏼We know it is not our job to change people—it’s our job to represent the light of Jesus so others can encounter our magnificent and glorious God who sees them, knows them, and deeply loves them. ❤️

This team made the most of every moment this week, and the work they’ve done has left a lasting impression on every ministry they touched. They brought the love of Jesus everywhere they went, and lit up our city in the most beautiful way.

As they enjoy a well-earned fun day tomorrow, we know they’ll continue to shine His light wherever they go. 🌟

Thank you, Team Hull First Reformed Church, Iowa, for pouring yourselves out in service and love. We will miss you—but the memories we’ve made together will last forever! 💕

🌆 Urban Plunge – Day 3 with Hull First Reformed Church🌆

Today was incredible! We spent the day serving alongside Pastor Corey and Family Church of Chicago Heights, and our hearts are full. ❤️

From the very start, the team jumped into action—setting up chairs, tables, sound equipment, and more for an outdoor worship service under the pavilion. 💪 Minister David was overjoyed by the team’s help, both for setup and tear down.

We worshiped together and were deeply engaged with the message from John 14:12-21—reminding us that as believers, we are living representatives of Christ, and that we must rely on the power of consistent prayer. 🙏

After service, the church hosted a fun and joy-filled community event with nachos, refreshments, games, a bounce house, and a DJ. Our team loved spending time with the kids, pouring into them, and connecting with the community through laughter and love. 💛

We also helped unload a van full of food donations for the church pantry and witnessed Elim’s school packs being delivered to local children—what a beautiful full-circle moment. 🎒🍎

This team continues to show up with boldness and big hearts. We saw their spiritual gifts on full display today and were reminded how powerful obedience and service can be when done for the Kingdom.

To wrap it all up, the team caught the Metra into downtown Chicago to pass out blessing bags and enjoy a little time at Millennium Park together. ✨

One more day with this amazing crew—and we are savoring every second! 🙌
