Foster Home Needed!

Reacher is a 9-month-old Dutch Shepherd. He's a sweet boy who gets along with dogs, loves people, and adores playing catch. He also likes chewing a nylabone in his kennel, or carrying a stuffed toy around with him. He's a happy boy! We need a foster home for him. Fennec

Fennec has been in boarding for three months and she so ready for a home of her own. She’s not high maintenance, she’s snuggly, she adores being a weekend warrior, and she has obedience skills.

She was adopted, lived in that home for two years, and was returned to us when the family had their second child. She lived with a male dog and a toddler in that home.

She’s super affectionate and adores her person. She is good/tolerant with male dogs, she is not a fan of females. Her draw back is that she is not cat or small dog safe. She will flip into prey, which is not fair to either animal.

She is crate trained, she is house broken, she is fine loose when away, she’s a really nice adult dog for someone who doesn’t want to deal with a puppy or young dog.

Dani is ready to adopt!

Meet Dani, a loving and resilient pup looking for a forever home. Found emaciated on the streets of Chicago. Dani has been thriving in foster care and has shown just how sweet, loyal, and affectionate she can be. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch, going for walks, doing nosework or simply being close to people, Dani loves companionship and is ready to become part of a family.

Dani is energetic but has a nice off switch and gets along well with dogs, cats, and children. She enjoys long walks, nosework, and would do well in agility . She is making great progress with obedience and house training .

Like many rescue dogs, Dani just needs a patient and caring home where she can continue to feel safe and loved. In return, you’ll gain a devoted companion who will bring joy, comfort, and unconditional love every day.

Aria is now available for adoption!

She's come a long way since coming into rescue. She is enjoying life, has gained weight (and needs to gain a little more) and is learning house manners. She's housebroken, crate trained and has learned basic commands. You can also check the previous post on Aria for more information and other photos.

Aria is a sweet and loving Malinois. She is active and enjoys a good run. She is good with other dogs as she currently lives with 4 other male dogs (both large and small). She has a nice off switch (relaxing mode) and likes playing with toys but needs to be supervised (sometimes she likes to chew them). Aria has been around children on occasion and has done well.

Meet Dani

Dani had a rough start. She was emaciated after life on the streets of Chicago during our brutal January weather. With love, she has blossomed into a gorgeous loving companion. She loves everyone. Great with kids of all ages, dogs, and cats. From hiking in the woods to walking the mall she does it all.

She has started in obedience classes and will start nosework this week. Dani is an easy going Malinois that has a nice off switch.

She would be a good sports dog or a nice active family dog.

Adoptable!!!!!

She was surrendered to CACC by her owner, reason given was moving

Neutral/interested in dogs, no formal introduction

We’ve had her for 24hr now, so here’s what we can tell you about her. She is hesitant with reaching to touch her, yet recovers quickly if you pause and wait for her to ask (legit offers her chin) do it. Leashes up well, pulls hard on a slip lead.

She is has kept her crate clean and is on a potty schedule. She was hesitant at first for crating, but routine has shown that she can willing go in (and is rewarded for doing so) and wait for her leash to come off. She has not been walked outside the kennel yet, she needs to relax into the routine and learn how to play with us before we tackle that.

Have not introduced any toy play or toys. She is just starting to take freeze dried from hand and showing a willingness to give effort to get it.

She has been steady and calm for nail trim and handling.

Dutch Shepherd, 4yr old, Chicago

Adventure buddy material! Great at squirrel abatement, never skips a day at work. Does enjoy a good mental workout, been doing the basics around the kennel.

She likes the boys, but too much of a mean girl with the ladies. No gatos, no small critters, has lived with kids (her spacial awareness is zilch), house trained and crate trained.
