Hip Hop ChicaGO Welcome to Hip Hop ChicaGO: Connecting Cultures One Beat at a Time, an initiative of the Center for Asian Arts and Media. First stop: Shanghai, China!

http://www.HipHopChicaGO.org

As part of an exploration into global hip hop culture, the Center presented a Hip Hop Block Party at the Shanghai World Expo in September 2010. We were proud to represent the city of Chicago at the biggest Expo in history. Staged at the USA Pavilion, the production featured Chicago's best DJs, emcees, breakdancers, and artists, showcasing the vibrant youth energy of Chicago and engaging a younger global audience. Upon our return from Shanghai, we plan to continue our cultural exchange and host additional programs that examine hip hop around the world.
