The phrase “cause and effect” is defined as, “the relationship between actions or events such that one or more are the result of the other or others.”
…don’t worry, if you are still trying to figure out what that even means, you are not alone. We are not fluent in speaking Yoda either. With your help, our goal is to redefine the above and transform this confusing definition into a more meaningful
, collective mantra.
-Identifying a Need-
Across friends, family, and other young professionals, folks have consistently shared with us that they are chomping at the bit to find ways to help others and develop into community leaders – however, many have also shared that they cannot seem to find ways to do so. Whether you are unsure where to look or you find work events too intimidating – problem solved.

Cause & Affect is dedicated to organizing of galas, fundraisers, and networking forums. We will involve diverse themes and causes at each event. On Saturday, June 29th, Cause & Affect hosted its inaugural gala: “Startup for a Cause”. The launch event was focused entirely on startups! In the theme of “mingling, connecting, and giving back”, the mission behind our inaugural gala was to bring folks together, promote great ideas and local commerce, and support a meaningful cause in the community. We had a variety of startups and vendors on hand, so that guests could meet and learn all about new and exciting ideas – and, the full program of fun and entertainment included a beautiful dinner program, live DJ, dancing, and much more! Last, but not least, all of our guests & sponsors had a direct impact on a great cause by simply attending and supporting the event. The event's proceeds were used to fund scholarship needs for a rising HS senior to pursue her entrepreneurial aspirations in college. Cause & Affect partnered with the Big Shoulders Fund to identify a student within its network of inner-city schools. Startup for a Cause was an overwhelming success. More events to follow in the coming months. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or interests!
