Galewood Residents Organization (GRO)

Galewood Residents Organization (GRO) We are a very motivated group. All events are planned with the intention of bringing the community together to make it a more attractive place to live.

Organizing annual garage sales, holiday dinners, paper recycling drives, and speakers at our monthly meetings are among our accomplishments. We work very closely with other community institutions including the Galewood Montclare Garden Club, Galewood Gazette, and Moms in Action.

Email received from Ald. Sposato:

Dear Friend,

Today I asked Chairman Solis to defer the hearing regarding the zoning amendment application for 2102-08 N. Natchez until the next Committee on Zoning meeting. The committee generally meets once a month prior to the City Council meeting. This additional time will allow me to continue to discuss this project with members of the community, Chicago Public Schools, and with the representatives from United Neighborhood Organization.

For more information on the proposed school please contact my office at [email protected] or (773) 836-0036.

Sincerely,
Alderman Nicholas Sposato

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

There will be a community meeting regarding the redistricting of the 36th Ward, this Monday, December 12th at the Royal Gardens, located at 2515 N. Harlem Avenue.

Discussion will include strategies that we, together as group of neighborhoods, can undertake..... such as the circulation of the opposition letter and petition, phone calling and possible legal strategies. Your participation is encouraged and your input is welcome! Let's pack the Royal Gardens Banquet Hall.

Even if the City Council votes next week on the redistricting, discussion and more meetings will continue.

Politics will be left outside of the doors. We are moving foward together as a community of neighborhoods, to collectively combine our efforts in opposition of the remapping that will divide the 36th Ward.

Please forward this information. Thank you!
