NWLL aims to be an epicenter of community transformation through empowering coaches, athletes and families to be servant-leaders in and around Chicago’s Near West side . Vision:
We will fulfill our mission by first leading an excellent baseball program. Our coaches will be equipped and developed with
the knowledge of the game and how to mentor and develop players. Excellence is measured not by winning but with developing our athletes to be people of faith, people of character and people who will serve others. Faith-
it is our conviction that God has come to this world to show God’s love for every human being
Character-
it is our conviction that our leadership team, our coaches, our umpires, our volunteers and our athletes will be men and women of strong character. Service-
We expect that those who are a part our organization will have a spirit of serving
We will fulfill our mission by having strategic partnerships with numerous organizations such as Churches, Schools, Police Departments, Professional training centers, political, financial literacy organizations…. We will have resources to not only help the athlete, but their whole family. Every child that comes through our program will be equipped; meaning their spiritual, their emotional, their family, and their physical needs will be met. Needs:
Our leadership team needs to grow and change. Each person needs to help fulfill our mission statement and provide value to our organizations vision. Our coaches need to be better equipped on how to coach. Specifically we need to have a standard that all of our coaches use when they practice and when they play the game. Partnerships with other organizations right now are lacking. We have not formed relationships outside of Chicago Hope academy and brixen ivy ranch. Our reach right now is lacking. We need to have more children in our program. Through partnerships with schools, community centers and various organizations we need to better market and recruit athletes. Our volunteering and coaching base needs to grow. Right now it has happened by default. We need to intentionally recruit volunteers that are willing to serve and be a part of what is happening on Chicago’s Near West Side. Values: Faith, Fun, Consistent, Excellence, Character, Teamwork, Development, Service
