Garfield Park Community Council

Garfield Park Community Council The Garfield Park Community Council is dedicated to the revitalization of the Garfield Park community on Chicago’s West Side.

The Garfield Park Community Council (GPCC) was created in 2005 as part of LISC Chicago’s New Communities Program. For the first seven years, we were an affiliate of the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance before becoming independent in 2012. The GPCC’s work centers on four priority areas identified by residents: Housing, Business Development, Wellness, and Public Safety; resident committees are in

strumental in helping staff define policies and develop programs around these four areas. Over the last seven years, the GPCC has successfully facilitated over $8 million in community investment and developed a wide variety of programs in partnership with the community’s strong network of service providers and local institutions.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to support the Youth Garden Corps Appeal! In total, we have raised just over $7,600 of our $10,000 goal, thanks in large part to a $3,600 anonymous donor who matched early donations in honor of Wellness Director Angela Taylor. That still means that we have just over $2,600 to fundraise before the appeal ends this today!

We couldn't do this work without the support of our donors and we hope that you will help us support the futures of our youth and the system of community gardens that keeps this community fed! Donate at the link in the comments.

If you are interested in donating via check or donor-advised fund, please contact Development and Communications Manager Patrick Gallagher Landes at [email protected].
