A delegation of PRCUA executives, staff, and friends was proud to attend the Polish American Congress, Illinois Division Heritage Banquet in support of the organization and its continued efforts to preserve and promote Polish heritage, culture, and traditions.

The evening was especially meaningful as PRCUA Vice President Emeritus Micheline Jaminski was honored with the Leadership Award in recognition of her service, dedication, and contributions to the Polish American community.

We are also proud of the Jan Karski Polish School, sponsored by PRCUA, which presented the artistic program “Bridges of Freedom - A Polish Heart in American History,” representing the contributions of Polish Americans throughout our history.

PRCUA is honored to stand alongside organizations and individuals who work tirelessly to keep our Polish heritage alive and strengthen the bonds that unite our community not only every day, but especially during Polish American Heritage Month. 🇵🇱🇺🇸

During Polish American Heritage Month, we celebrate history, shared traditions and the stories passed down from one generation to the next.

Food has always been a powerful way to keep those stories alive. From pierogi and gołąbki to pączki and babcia’s kołaczki, passed-down recipes carry more than ingredients. They carry family history, cherished memories, and the love of the people who taught us how to make them.

This month, we're honoring the recipes passed down through our PRCUA family and the people who made them a meaningful part of our story. ❤️

This 1899 life insurance certificate offers a glimpse into the early history of the PRCUA and its mission of mutual aid and community support.

Long before modern life insurance, the PRCUA helped protect Polish American families and communities by establishing social programs, including its burial fund, the precursor to today’s life insurance. These efforts of PRCUA reflected a powerful tradition among Polish immigrants in America: coming together to provide financial assistance, security, and support in times of need.

This historic certificate is a tangible reminder of the PRCUA’s early commitment to brotherhood, unity, and mutual support, and of the organization’s role in helping Polish Americans build a stronger future together.

The PRCUA has once again joined the upcoming Annual Polish Independence 10K/5K Run/Walk! Our team will be part of one of the most inspirational Polish American community events of the year, a celebration of Poland’s return to independence on November 11, 1918.

This family-friendly event will be held on Sunday, October 25th, on the beautiful Chicago lakefront. The run’s USATF-certified, chip-timed course runs along beautiful Lake Michigan starting at Montrose Harbor. All participants receive a custom finisher’s medal, event T-shirt and lunch.

We are welcoming participants to join us to run or walk, celebrate Polish independence and to promote PRCUA. Please sign up using the link below and select “Polish Roman Catholic Union of America” on the registration page when prompted for team name.

PRCUA members came together this weekend for Masses celebrating Polish history, faith, and heritage.

At the annual Polish Heritage Mass at St. Albertus Catholic Church in Detroit, the founding church of the PRCUA, members of PRCUA dance groups were joined in celebration by National Directors Kristi Mihalic and Christopher Ozog. PRCUA National Chaplain Very Rev. Canon Walter J. Ptak presided. Colleen Bonkowski was recognized for 12 years of dedicated service as Director of District 10.

PRCUA was also honored to attend the 47th anniversary commemoration of the Holy Mass celebrated by our beloved Polish Pope, John Paul II, on October 5, 1979, at Five Holy Martyrs Church in Chicago. Held at the outdoor altar dedicated in his honor, the Mass offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on his enduring legacy of faith, pride, and unity and the lasting impact he continues to have on the Polish American community.

Since before the founding of our nation, Polish immigrants have helped shape communities across the land, from Chicago and New York to Phoenix, Cleveland, and Los Angeles. They established churches, schools, businesses, cultural organizations, and fraternal societies like PRCUA - creating communities of "Polonia" that helped Polish traditions thrive while leaving their mark on the American story.

What began 153 years ago as a vision to unite and support Polish immigrants in America grew into a lasting institution dedicated to preserving Polish heritage, strengthening community, and carrying traditions forward for generations.
