The Leslie F. Schwartz Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation

The Leslie F. Schwartz Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation The Leslie F. At the time of her death, at age 57, she was a Senior Partner in the Chicago office of the global media management firm, Group M.

Schwartz Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation's goal is to promote & fund medical research, early detection, prevention, & treatment of Pancreatic Cancer. Leslie Feingold Schwartz was known for her calm, caring, and gentle demeanor, her knowledge, hard work and dedication, her incredible organizational skills, her ability to balance her personal and professional life, her thoughtful, kind, and un

derstanding mentoring of those who were fortunate enough to work with her, an unwavering devotion to both her job and her friends, and, above all, for her great love of family. She was a graduate of Munster High School in Munster, Indiana, and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, before becoming a media buyer in Chicago, getting married and eventually settling in Deerfield, Illinois, where she and her husband raised a wonderful and loving son. During a successful career of over 30 years, Leslie worked in the media departments at Grey North, Foote Cone and Belding, Interpublic Company, and their related affiliates. Leslie was a totally unselfish person who always placed the needs of her family, friends and associates before her own. In August of 2010, Leslie began to experience some abdominal bloating and a cough. When the cough persisted, she sought medical attention, and, in September, 2010, following a series of tests, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. As is too often the case with this horrible disease, her death followed only four months later

Spearheaded by her sister, Susan Feingold Carlson, Leslie’s family created a foundation in her name, and dedicated it towards the early detection and treatment of pancreatic cancer in the hope that others could benefit from further research into the causes and treatment of this dreaded and deadly disease. The Leslie F Schwartz Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, with your generous aid, assistance, and support, honors Leslie’s memory by doing its part to eradicate pancreatic cancer. In doing so, we also hope to honor the memory of all of your friends and family members who have suffered the ravages of this horrible malignancy. "Believe… In Time… We Will Succeed." Life is short and moments are precious, but perspective is most important. Perspective is the value Aunt Leslie continually instilled in those around her. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just four months before she passed, she always reminded me, Don t sweat the small stuff." In ...

Too Good to be True? This Ted Talk by Jorge Soto occurred in October of 2014, yet a proven, widely-accepted methodology for the early detection of pancreatic cancer continues to elude us. Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and we're looking forward to the big game, but it is also . Please consider making a contribution to our Foundation. Thanks to all of you for your
interest and your generosity.

Along with a crew of technologists and scientists, Jorge Soto is developing a simple, noninvasive, open-source test that looks for early signs of multiple forms of cancer. Onstage at TEDGlobal 2014, he demonstrates a working prototype of the mobile platform for the first time.

Johns Hopkins Medicine has recognized The Leslie F. Schwartz Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation's support of pancreatic cancer research in the latest issue of its Cutting Edge newsletter. The article offers insights regarding the history of the Foundation, the motivation behind its work, and its hopes for the future. You may read the article below. The photograph was taken at a family celebration in June 2010, just four months before Leslie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and seven months before she lost her battle.

When Susan Feingold Carlson was a year old, her aunt passed away from pancreatic cancer. As an adult, Carlson lost her cousin to the same disease. One year later, it took her sister, Leslie Feingold Schwartz. That’s when Carlson says she hit a breaking point.
