Happy Birthday Ms. Arnetha!

06/04/2020

Dear RTW Supporters and Family,

As you know, much of the country has fallen into civil unrest over the death of George Floyd. While many have used their first amendment right peacefully, others have used the opportunity to vandalize and loot resulting in many places to purchase food becoming inaccessible.

The situation was already strained by Covid-19 which hindered the supply chain for food delivery making it a hunt from store to store to located food. Now the vandalizing of the stores has made it even more challenging and extremely difficult for more of our veterans to access food.

Before the riots we were helping to supply over 800 veterans in seven veteran shelters and private homes with food every week, we have committed to increase our service area to make sure our disabled and shut in Veterans are continuing to receive food. Please visit our website to donate so that we can keep servicing our Chicago Veterans.

We appreciate your continued support

In early 2018, one of our founders, Ms. Arnetha, was diagnosed with an aggressive pancreatic cancer. Doctors initially expected her to live for six months, but with the bountiful support of family, friends, and her spiritual communities, Arnetha exceeded those expectations, putting up a strong fight for a full year.

Despite her effort, it is with great sadness that we inform you that Arnetha's post here in this life has come to an end with her passing at 10:55AM on Valentine's Day at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with her family and friends at her side. A true soldier of God for the community and people in need. Arnetha leaves behind a legacy that has touched many. While her absence continues to be felt, the memory of her will persevere.

Please keep her family in your prayers as they go through this difficult time. Funeral Arrangements are currently being planned and the details will be forwarded to you as soon as possible. We'd like to thank everyone who has showed her support through her time of need. The love you've shown has truly made a difference.
